No one's story is essentially more or less important than the next. The journey we encounter together is, without a doubt, an interesting and powerful one. So how do we maneuver and manipulate one to overlap another? We shouldn't. We should embrace the hardest stories and the easiest stories because they are both real stories and lives to many. I wrote The Rose Garden feeling empowered and knowing that in the end, a powerful message is coming across, no matter how worthy some may deem it or not. It is real. The story and the journey are real, and I hope, just a little, that someone else can experience it and find the comparisons and contrasts within their own journey.
In the second self-published collection from Sema'Jay Hall, there is a sense of longing to answer the unknown. In reflection on the time Hall spent between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the poems in Dying Through The Grapevine are filled with questions surrounding love, existence, and the power of acceptance.

Basics First introduces an innovative way of thinking about money. Sema and Manu Dube argue that we do away with regulations, allow people to travel wherever they want and trade freely. Simple enough, but trade will never be free if one party cannot walk away because to do so would threaten their survival. This book aims to be a seed for a discussion where everyone can participate, by showing that it could be possible to change our systems for the better if we focus on the basics first. It is all about money. About how we choose to define it.
Blending mysticism and modernity, Kaygusuz’s stories demonstrate why she is regarded as one of the most promising writers in Turkey today.
This novel by one of Turkey's most highly regarded writers tells the story of a granddaughter's reckoning with the suppressed and traumatic memories of her grandmother, who survived a genocidal massacre in the Dersim region of southeast Turkey in 1938. Based on Sema Kaygusuz's relationship to her own grandmother, the novel embeds the turmoil of contemporary mass violence within mythic and deep historical timescapes, cracking open the modern history of Turkey to ask greater questions about good and evil, about exile and survival, about resilience in an age of everyday horror.

Kurdistan + 100 poses a question to twelve contemporary Kurdish writers: might the Kurds have a country to call their own by the year 2046 - exactly a century after the last glimmer of independence (the short-lived Kurdish Republic of Mahabad)? Or might the struggle for independence have taken new turns and new forms? Throughout the 20th century (and so far in the 21st), the Kurds have been betrayed, suppressed, stripped of their basic rights (from citizenship to the freedom to speak their own language) and had their political aspirations crushed at every turn. In this groundbreaking anthology, Kurdish authors (including several former political prisoners, and one currently serving a 183-year sentence for his views) imagine a freer future, one in which it is no longer effectively illegal to be a Kurd. From future eco-activism, to drone warfare, to the resuscitation of victims of past massacres, these stories explore different sides of the present struggle through the metaphor of futurism to dazzling effect. The first anthology of Kurdish science fiction ever collected and published in the UK, we have invited authors from all parts of 'Kurdistan' and the diaspora to write specially commissioned stories set in their own versions of the future.
Islamic Art of Illumination presents an amazing mixture of classical Turkish illumination patterns and their contemporary interpretations. It illustrates how illumination, also known as the art of tezhip, was applied to various articles during the Ottoman period, including pictures, royal edicts and insignia, tiles, chests, gun holsters, shields, and even costumes prepared for the Sultan and his family. It also shows how today illumination has extensively been applied on architectural surfaces, book covers, manuscripts, carpets, textiles, ceramics, glass and wood panels, and metal works. The author, a prominent illumination artist, displays her incredible pieces of art, skillfully swirling her imagination together with classical Turkish Islamic patterns of illumination. In richly illuminated designs using motifs such as buds and roses, as well as stylized and naturalistic flowers, she exhibits all of the geometrical, foliate, and floral patterns used in the art. She also takes a closer look at making illumination designs and using various application techniques, and she shows all of the steps used to make illumination. This book is for all those seeking to explore the rich history and profundity of the Islamic art of illumination, and its use from Ottoman to contemporary times."

Day after day Additive Manufacturing (AM) process is gaining increasing importance as the process allows manufacturing with literally no waste while most complex shapes could be between the users' hands at home. Industries have recognized the significant role this technology could play in the fourth industrial revolution. Emphasizing this fact, the present Final Year Project is about summarizing the researches that target modeling and optimization of the AM process. Over 50 contemporary studies on Modeling of Additive Manufacturing were collected and chronologically presented. The researches accentuate modeling in AM punctuating from 2003 to 2018. On the other hand, in addressing optimization, 49 studies were also collected and presented chronologically published from 1999 till 2018. Our results have shown that most of the researches on modeling and optimization were published in years 2016 and 2017. This indeed showed the increasing importance of AM (including 3D-Printing technologies). Our survey should help professionals get more information in a shorter period of time as most of the results are listed in this project.
