Intersectional Discrimination

Intersectional Discrimination

This book examines the concept of intersectional discrimination and why it has been difficult for jurisdictions around the world to redress it in discrimination law. 'Intersectionality' was coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw in 1989. Thirty years since its conception, the term has become a buzzword in sociology, anthropology, feminist studies, psychology, literature, and politics. But it remains marginal in the discourse of discrimination law, where it was first conceived. Traversing its long and rich history of development, the book explains what intersectionality is as a theory and as a category of discrimination. It then explains what it takes for discrimination law to be reimagined from the perspective of intersectionality in reference to comparative laws in the US, UK, South Africa, Canada, India, and the jurisprudence of the European Courts (CJEU and ECtHR) and international human rights treaty bodies.

These poems begin with simple titles that mean simple things. However, they hide strong emotions and life experiences. Few of them talk about big ideas just about related to anything as moderate as a plant. They are subjective to what the reader interprets. They touch upon philosophy, psychology, economics, physics and other complex subjects. However, the most interesting thing about them is that, as a simple mind would comprehend them to be basic references to these subjects (owing to their quirky topics in layman terms), but as one looks deeper, one can learn a lot about the inner self due to their subjective nature.

Day dreaming thoughts

If you have a dream, don't just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality. There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure. We live and breathe words It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt--I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted--and then I realized that truly I just wanted you. Publishing a book is like stuffing a note into a bottle and hurling it into the sea. Some bottles drown, some come safely to land, where the notes are read and then possibly cherished, or else misinterpreted, or else understood all too well by those who hate the message. You never know who your readers might be. I had no particular expectation that the book would ever be published, because it was sort of a mess. It was only when I found myself writing things I didn't realise. The book had become an incentive to deeper thinking. That's really what writing is―an intense form of thought.
