Soon Atomic Fire in the Middle East and the hope of Israel

This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who fight against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth. This is the prophecy of Isaiah 19-1-25/ We are already heading towards the end of time as the Bible tells us. Matthew 24 is an invaluable support. Nation will rise against nation, Kingdom against Kingdom, but here it is Israel or the UN will one day vote a resolution to invade Jerusalem and attempt to wrest it from the hands of the Hebrews. This vote will be unanimous, but Israel will be alone in its fate. All the countries of the world will send their armies against this small Jewish state, but it will be a day of carnage, and all the soldiers who go to the front on that day against Israel will not return. The five Continents will be present in military force, but Israel will triumph and this victory will not even be comparable to the victory of the Six Day War or the Yom Kippur War. A miraculous victory in which all the Arab countries will tremble and Israel will expand.

Elizabeth Ann Seton: A Woman of Prayer

Elizabeth Ann Seton: A Woman of Prayer

Sister Marie Celeste

This extraordinary book allows the reader to penetrate the heart and soul of Elizabeth Ann Seton through her writings to her friends. During her brief life (1774-1821) she was a successful wife, mother, and teacher. Seton was also founder of the Sisters of Charity, and is the first native-born American saint of the Roman Catholic Church. All of her accomplishments flowed from the fact that she was first and foremost a woman of prayer. She expressed that spirit of prayer in her writings, meditations, reflections, prayers, poems and songs, written for herself, her friends, and for her religious community. This rich selection from the saint's writings give us a glimpse into her heart and soul, and her very special relationship with God.

The unifying theme in this second volume of essays by William A. Wallace to be published in the Variorum series is signaled in the title of the opening paper: 'Domingo de Soto and the Iberian roots of Galileo's science'. The seven essays in the first part provide textual studies of Soto's early formulations of the laws of falling bodies, the context in which they were developed in the 16th century, and the ways in which they were transmitted in Spain and Portugal to the early 17th century, mainly by Jesuit scholars. The following essays focus on the young Galileo and his work at Pisa and Padua, leading to his discovery of the law of uniform acceleration in free fall. Textual evidence is presented for an indirect influence of Soto's work on Galileo, mediated by Jesuits who were teaching at Padua in the first decade of the 17th century.

As Soon As I Fell: A Memoir

As Soon As I Fell: A Memoir

What happens when being radical for God brings you to the edge of disaster? When Kay Bruner and her husband, Andy, took their young family to live on an island in the South Pacific, she found the purposeful, adventurous life she'd hoped for-along with isolated living, dangerous sea travel, tropical illnesses, and a floundering marriage. As they worked on a Bible translation project with a local language group, Kay sank into burnout and depression while Andy medicated his stress with a pornography addiction. Bringing life back from the brink required a radical reinvention of life, from a ministry and marriage built on high performance and spiritual heroism, to a nourishing daily walk of grace, freedom, and intimate connection. This is a story about going to extremes for spiritual acceptability and failing dismally, only to find that love and grace transcend failure. For anyone who's ever asked, "When will I be good enough for love?" This book resoundingly answers: "Right now. You are loved, right this minute, in this mess." While few of us will live on a tiny island in the South Pacific, many of us will find hope and healing in this story of a painful fall into the arms of love.
As Soon as I Open My Eyes I See a Film – Experiments in Yugoslav art in the 60s and 70s
In the late 1960s and '70s, artists in Yugoslavia rejected the official language of expression licensed by the regime, abstract art, and replaced it with "anti-art" - works on the borderline of the form that balanced between amateurism and professionalism and breached modernist conventions. These artists seized upon the opportunities to disseminate their art offered by film clubs - public institutions that brought together amateur artists and served as enclaves of freedom. "As Soon as I Open My Eyes I See a Film" explores this crucial period in the Yugoslav art scene and situates it in the broader cultural context of Central and Eastern Europe.
