The concept Electrochemical machining (ECM) is broadly implemented in manufacturing area for the past two decades because of several advantages e.g. almost negligible tool wear, resistance of W.P. to thermal and mechanical stress and strain and the ease to form complicated shapes in tough material. Several optimization techniques had been implemented for studying the process factors of different non-conventional machining processes. Analysis of surface texture by implementation of RSM had been discussed by authors but they have not included the ROC& MRR. A precise investigation of ROC and MRR is studied in detail. Our aim for the present work is to optimize the independent parameter of ECMM using S1 tool steel also called as shock resistant tool steel, for maximizing the amount of material removal and for minimizing the radial over cut using RSM. The multi-parameter examinations of the MRR and ROC obtained from RSM have been in depth analysed by contour and surface plots. Voltage is maximum effect on machining rate whereas the E.C. largely affects ROC in comparison to other parameters. The optimum performance parameters for ECMM setup are determined for future investigation.

Al 6082 is one of the most important alloy present in 6xxx series as a new alloy. This is because of its high strength to weight ratio, good formability, and machinability. In present work, heat treatment on Al 6082 alloy in order to study its effect on thermal and mechanical properties and also optimize it for thermal and mechanical properties using Response Surface Methodology. The process parameters are solutionizing time, aging temperature, and aging time. Solutionization is followed by artificial aging of samples for a period of 90 minutes to 450 minutes. The heating process takes place in Muffle Furnace. The mathematical model for the thermal conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion and Vickers hardness has been developed. All the mathematical models obtained hold good at 95% confidence level. The optimum parameters will be obtained for thermal & mechanical properties.
Application of Finite Element Method on Sheet Metal Product

Application of Finite Element Method on Sheet Metal Product

Sheet metal forming is a common process to produce various sheet metal based products like cylindrical cups, square cups etc. It has various types of defects which can reduce product quality, but wrinkling is the most critical defect in sheet metal products. Flange wrinkling is very common problem in sheet metal form based products and this is due to undesirable deformation of sheet, thickness and compressive stresses. When drawing process starts and increase draw depth, after certain height the flange region plastically buckles into a number of waves and the process fails down. It was found that small scale industries working in this field have less technical knowledge for forming defects.

In this book, an experimental analysis of compact biogas plant is performed using biogas produced with the help cow dung and algae. During the production of biogas by cow dung, methanogenic bacteria produced and it can be recycled again and again. After that another wastage i.e algae is used and found almost the same production rate in both cases. During the process, affecting parameters of biogas like pH, temperature, retentions time, feedstock's according to the capacity of biogas plant also studied and to find a relation between time, temperature and volume. Biogas can be produced by household wastages if people utilized in a proper manner.

This book is the result of Author Coach Satish Purohit's mentoring of seven 'first-time' authors from the book-in-mind stage to the book-in-market stage. The idea was to handhold the authors and familiarise them with the process of creating and selling their own book step-by-step.The authors are Deepak Kotak, Vijayalakshmi Raman, Deepak Kumar Singh, Sumit Sharma, Nara Subramaniam, Jitendra Nath Mahato, and J Lakshminarayanan.Noted author, keynote speaker and time investment strategist Brigadier Sushil Bhasin and Jogesh Jain, India's leading employability coach have written the foreword and afterword of this book. All the contributing authors, who have been called 'mantra givers' on the cover of the book, have independent coaching, training and facilitation businesses. You are invited to engage, interact, and learn from the 7 mantra-givers on www.7mantrasoforganicsuccess.in
Damping in Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials

Damping in Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials starts with an introduction to the basic concepts of damping in composite materials. Methods of modeling damping are then covered, along with recent developments in measuring techniques, both local, like polar scanning and global techniques like the Resonalyser method (based on measuring modal damping ratios of composite material plates). The effect of other factors, such as stress, strain-level, stiffness and frequency that need to be considered when determining damping behavior in composite materials are also discussed in detail. Other chapters present a parametric study of a two-phase composite material using different micromechanical models such as Unified micromechanics, and Hashin and Eshelby’s to predict elastic moduli and loss factors. A bridging model that incorporates the effect of fiber packaging factors is then compared to FEM results. Final sections cover the effect of the interphase on the mechanical properties of the composite, present a nonlinear model for the prediction of damping in viscoelastic materials, and provide practical examples of damping and principles of vibration control.
