Use the many types of tools required to navigate and maintain a microservice ecosystem. This book examines what is normally a complex system of interconnected services and clarifies them one at a time, first examining theoretical requirements then looking at concrete tools, configuration, and workflows. Building out these systems includes many concerns such as containerization, container orchestration, build pipelines and continuous integration solutions, automated testing, service discovery, logging and analytics. You will examine each of these tools and understand how they can be combined within an organization. You will design an automated build pipeline from Pull Request to container deployment, understand how to achieve High Availability and monitor application health with Service Discovery, and learn how to collaborate with other teams, write documentation, and describe bugs. Covering use of Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), and StatsD and Grafana for analytics, you will build on your existing knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture and gain an advanced, practical understanding of everything from infrastructure development to team collaboration. What You'll LearnDesign an API to be convenient for developers to consume.Deploy dynamic instances of Microservices and allow then to discover each other.Track the health of a Microservice and be notified in case of degraded performance.Write effective documentation and communicate efficiently with other teams.Who This Book Is For Those who would like a better understanding of System Oriented Architecture. Those who would like to break a monolith into smaller Microservices. Those who are familiar with Microservices and would like a better understanding of peripheral technologies.

Many companies, from startups to Fortune 500 companies alike, use Node.js to build performant backend services. And engineers love Node.js for its approachable API and familiar syntax. Backed by the world's largest package repository, Node's enterprise foothold is only expected to grow. In this hands-on guide, author Thomas Hunter II proves that Node.js is just as capable as traditional enterprise platforms for building services that are observable, scalable, and resilient. Intermediate to advanced Node.js developers will find themselves integrating application code with a breadth of tooling from each layer of a modern service stack. Learn why running redundant copies of the same Node.js service is necessary Know which protocol to choose, depending on the situation Fine-tune your application containers for use in production Track down errors in a distributed setting to determine which service is at fault Simplify app code and increase performance by offloading work to a reverse proxy Build dashboards to monitor service health and throughput Find out why so many different tools are required when operating in an enterprise environment

A long time ago, a magical experiment went wrong. An ancient population, who started it, had to bear the consequences. The magical explosion ripped everyone from their time. Dana has been found and taken in by the dwarfs when she was just a baby. On her tenth birthday there, she learns about her heritage and the one of her people, who not only got very old, but also had exceptional abilities. Curious and full of enthusiasm, she now tries to find out more about herself and her people. While she's searching for her past, she comes across a ghost. The ghost is one of her people, who now instructs her and supervises her training as a magician. She learns to read the old books and how to apply magic. He tells her of what happened back in the day and she, of course, wants to search for her parents and her people - even if she has to outwit time. Of course, she also learns respect for life in general. During her training, she receives orders from the King of the dwarfs, to help out with a problem in the mountains. Following a catastrophe more than one hundred years ago, nobody can leave the mountains anymore. Anyone who's tried to take on the problem, has failed so far. The dwarfs now hope that Dana's magical abilities can solve said problem. During the hunt for a solution and for her past, Dana needs to face many adventures. She learns more about her heritage and during her investigations she meets more and more characters that have had contact to her people and who are willing to help her. Luckily, Dana is not alone. Shari, her little fairy, and Gomek, the dwarf boy, accompany and support her as best as they can. Is this kind of task even manageable for a ten-year-old and her young friends? Dana and supporters won't be deterred, at any rate, and try everything to reach their goal.

The Santa Cruz Mountains, an area covering almost 1,400 square miles from San Francisco southward to the Monterey County line, are a part of the Coast Range of Central California. The Mountains and the adjacent lowlands have a rich vascular flora, and about 1,800 species, subspecies, varieties, forms, and hybrids of ferns, conifers, and flowering plants, distributed among 168 families, have been reported from the region. This comprehensive flora, the first of the area, is designed for use by both the serious beginner and the trained botanist. The flora is illustrated by 250 line drawing and ten photographs. In addition, there is a map of the Santa Cruz Mountains area and a stratigraphic profile of the rock formations. The stratigraphic profile and a section on geology have been contributed by Dr. Earl E. Brabb of the United States Geological Survey. Distributional notes, keys to families, genera, and species, pertinent synonymy, a glossary of technical terms, an index of place names, and common0name and scientific-name indexes form the body of the text. The Introduction contains a description of the geography of the Santa Cruz Mountains and adjacent lowlands, seconds on the geology and climate, a brief discussion and analysis of the vegetation and floristic affinities of the area, and a history of past botanical collecting. A selected list of references has been appended to allow the interested individual to pursue his studies further.
Thomas Muir of Huntershill
Those researching the history of political democracy in Scotland will inevitably find that one name stands out from the crowd, namely that of Thomas Muir of Huntershill. He was one of several people tried in Scottish courts during the 1790s for the alleged crime of 'Sedition', and four of the others share commemoration with him on a large monument in Edinburgh, but somehow Muir seems special. The way he used his trial as a platform to promote the logic of 'an equal representation of the People in the House of the People' was extremely dramatic and was fully reported at the time both in newspapers and in several published editions of the trial proceedings. Yet somehow historians have never been fully convinced about Muir's claim to recognition. For some he represents a sour note in the triumphant story of the Scottish Enlightenment, while others have dismissed him as a failure in his own time, conceding little consequence to the example he set for future generations. Over the years there have been attempts to right what many people regard as a grievous wrong, in this respect. This substantial and insightful edited volume adds to the debate the views of Rhona Brown, Gerard Carruthers, Tom Devine, Tom Dowds, Satinder Kaur, Thomas Lemoine, David McVey, Don Martin, Gordon Pentland, Alex Salmond, Beverley Sherry, Alex Watson, Jimmy Watson, and Ronnie Young.
The Trial of Thomas Muir, Younger of Huntershill, Before the High Court of Justiciary, at Edinburgh
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. This collection reveals the history of English common law and Empire law in a vastly changing world of British expansion. Dominating the legal field is the Commentaries of the Law of England by Sir William Blackstone, which first appeared in 1765. Reference works such as almanacs and catalogues continue to educate us by revealing the day-to-day workings of society.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title.
