Il est ressorti de nos travaux de recherche sur le gombo que la production des vari t s Tomi et Koto est sous l'influence de la saison des pluies qui correspond la p riode de leur abondance sur le march et la saison s che leur p nurie. Selon la pr f rence, 53 % de la population interrog e choisissent le type Tomi contre 33 % le type Koto. La culture du gombo est d pendante de la culture de l'igname. Les rendements du gombo sont lev s pour des semis effectu s en mars et juin (6 7 t/ha) et faibles pour ceux de septembre (4 5 t/ha) et d cembre (1 3 t/ha). L'arrosage du gombo est n cessaire en juillet et ao t mais obligatoire pour les semis de septembre et d cembre. Quelle que soit la p riode de culture Bouak , l'application, avant le semis de 250 kg/ha de NPK10-18-18 en apport de fond et de 200 kg/ha d'ur e, en renforcement, 60 jours apr s, am liore le rendement du gombo Tomi (6 t/ha en moyenne contre 2 t/ha pour le r gime sans engrais). Des recherche compl mentaire sont n cessaires pour d finir les r gimes d'arrosage appropri s afin d'augmenter les rendements du gombo de 1 3 t/ha plus 7 t/ha en saison s che.
