Den här är min andra bok med kulturberättelser från Nacka. I den första, "I Skuggan av Atlas", skildrade jag folklivet, idrotten och arbetet på fabrikerna i Sickla under min uppväxt. Nacka är en kommun i snabb förändring. Jag tycker det är viktigt att bidra med en relief genom att berätta om hur Nackas kultur och kommunikationer växte fram. Jag var en flitig besökare på biblioteket i Finntorp. Där mötte jag stadsbibliotekarie Boris Beltzikoff som inspirerade mig till att söka som elev till Gripsholms folkhögskola. Hans arbete med att utveckla biblioteken i Nacka är värt att uppmärksammats. Intresset för folkbildning väcktes under mina studier på folkhögskolan och ligger mig fortfarande varmt om hjärtat. Folkbildaren Gunnar Vestlund har bidragit mycket till den pedagogiska utvecklingen av folkhögskolorna i Sverige. Han är Nackabo och tidigare rektor på Tollare folkhögskola. Johan Victor Svenson byggde en bilfabrik i Augustendal. Han var i början av 1900-talet Sveriges näst största privata arbetsgivare. Trots att automobilfabrik ingick i företagsnamnet byggde man aldrig någon bil där och senare ändrades namnet till motorfabrik. De gula Björknäsbussarna var länge en livsnerv i Nacka. De dagliga bussturerna skapade en gemenskap och passagerarna lärde känna igen många personligheter bland chaufförer och konduktörer. Trevlig läsning

Die Logotheorie (Logotherapie und Existenzanalyse) ist heutzutage besonders aktuell. Man sieht dies unter anderem daran, dass sich sehr viele und aus sehr verschiedenen Zusammenh ngen auf Viktor E. Frankl beziehen; Logotheorie scheint somit zurzeit in Mode zu sein. Nat rlich ist es gut, wenn ein genuines Interesse am Denken von Frankl w chst, da die Sorgen, die er pr sentiert, und die L sungen, die er anbietet, nicht an Zeit und Ort gebunden sind. Daher sind Frankls Gedanken in der heutigen Welt genauso aktuell, wie sie es in seiner Zeit im 20. Jahrhundert waren. Der Autor dieses Buches macht sich jedoch ernste Sorgen ber die aufgetretene Gefahr, dass der Kern der urspr nglichen Logotheorie verloren gehen k nnte, wenn er mit verschiedenen Betonungen an jede Art von Verwendungszweck angepasst und umgestaltet wird. Mit anderen Worten strebt der Autor danach, die Konsistenz und Klarheit der Franklschen Logotheorie pr zise darzustellen und damit zu verhindern, dass aus der Logotheorie nicht nur solches heraus gepfl ckt und f r den je eigenen, praktischen Gebrauch moduliert wird, das ansonsten auch zu vielen anderen theoretischen Richtungen geh rt. Er m chte mit der vorliegenden Arbeit auch daf r sorgen, dass die genau f r die Logotheorie notwendigen Gedanken nicht ausgelassen oder separat aus der Ganzheit und deswegen irgendwie falsch interpretiert und in andere Systeme bzw. Verwendungszwecke inkorporiert werden. Damit die Identit t der von Viktor Frankl selbst verfassten Logotheorie gesch tzt werden kann, wird in diesem Buch genau das in den Mittelpu

As the proceedings of a symposium in honor of Victor Weisskopf at MIT, this volume contains papers by leaders of physics at the time, including M Delbrück, M Gell-Mann, H Bethe, T D Lee, B R Mottelson, W K H Panofsky, E Purcell, J Schwinger, S M Ulam, and others. Some papers address problems in the philosophy of physics, and physics and society, that are timeless in nature. But the symposium had a historical significance, in that it took place at a historic juncture of particle physics — the emergence of the Standard Model owing to experiments that point to the existence of quarks. Some of the papers reflect both the pre-quark and post-quark points of view. For these reasons, these proceedings merit reissue and reexamination.
