The Guide has been written primarily for students of A Level English Literature as specified by Edexcel in the post-2015 syllabus (9ET0). It addresses Component 3 (9ET0/3) - Poetry, specifically, the requirement to study a "literary period". The Guide covers all the poems in the literary period "The Victorians" as selected from "The New Oxford Book of Victorian Verse", Editor Christopher Ricks (OUP, 2008).
