Dave Chappelle and Philosophy
The New York Times have praised Dave Chappelle as “an American folk hero” for his ability to communicate across lines of race, class, and culture at a time when Americans are more polarized than they have ever been. Dave Chappelle and Philosophy brings together twenty-five chapters by philosophers of diverse backgrounds and varying points of view, looking closely at the hilarious, annoying, exhilarating, upsetting, and thought-provoking aspects of Chappelle’s wonderfully rich output. This volume of the Series serves as an invitation to think about some of the most urgent moral and political questions of our time.

Meet Dave Lassam, the Man for the Job
I joined the Navy in 1978 and was discharged in late 2016 after almost 39 years service. I served as a medic and also a Medical Administration Officer during my time. The book contains my memories of an awesome career and covers many subjects from my attendance at car accidents; reviving people who had had heart attacks; working in disaster zones to give humanitarian aid and many other stories. I wrote this at the behest of many of my civilian friends with whom I had told these stories and also for myself. I have been involved in some of the biggest news stories in Australia including my role in the evacuation of Australian nationals from Bali after the Bali Bombings, to commanding a group of medical specialists and sailors who deployed with the US Navy during humanitarian missions to the South Pacific and the Indian Ocean. It also covers my diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Prostate cancer which basically ended my career. Dave Lassam Lieutenant Commander, RAN (Ret)

It has been an especial pleasure for me to write this book. During the past summer I covered about seven thousand miles of our great western country, and I have seen many of the places herein described. I have also been touched by our warm western hospitality, and have had the added pleasure of meeting some of my young readers face to face...We are happy to announce this classic book. Many of the books in our collection have not been published for decades and are therefore not broadly available to the readers. Our goal is to access the very large literary repository of general public books. The main contents of our entire classical books are the original works. To ensure high quality products, all the titles are chosen carefully by our staff. We hope you enjoy this classic.
Dave Darrin's Fourth Year at Annapolis (Esprios Classics)
Harrie Irving Hancock (January 16, 1868 - March 12, 1922) was an American chemist and writer, mainly remembered as an author of children's literature and juveniles in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and as having written a fictional depiction of a German invasion of the United States. A prolific author who liked to work at night, Hancock wrote for the New York Journal, the New York World, and Leslie's Weekly. Much of his writing was the kind of "Boy's books" initiated by the famous Stratemeyer Syndicate, based on the assumption (which proved hugely successful) that "boys want the thrill of feeling 'grown-up'" and that they like books which give them that feeling to come in series where the same heroes appear again and again.

At my age, 74 (as of this date), having a granddaughter is the most precious of all feelings. All Grandparents can identify. I have been very fortunate in my life. Born to amazing parents. Lived in many different cultures. Traveled to many countries (thanks to the US Navy), and, in fact, educated by the Navy in the fine art of Photography. I was never the best photographer, but I always approached each shot with passion. I wanted not only to share what I saw but, also, to convey feelings of the subject and/or scene. This little Black and white booklet is an attempt to share with my grandchildren, my grandnieces & my grandnephews and to all children everywhere. The pages are deliberately designed with lots of blank spaces; the better for the child to draw and for the grandparent to share handwritten notes. I was inspired to do so because of a bit of personal history; a hand-written note from my Mom to me. It is fading now since she passed away many, many years ago. This experience was the impetus to leave spaces on each page, lots of space, to draw and write. Please understand that this is not a work of art. It certainly will not win any literary awards, but that was never the point. The point is simply to create a scratch pad, if you will, that one may interact with a child.

I am not a writer, but I write anyway. I am not a great photographer, but I take pictures anyway. I don't have the skills or resources to make good videos, but I make videos anyway. I am like thousands of others who are creators, even if they are so only so in their own minds. The struggling artist, musician, painter, photographer... I am one of them. So, there are times when we get a bit down and wonder why do we do what we do? Why not just quit? But we don't and we won't. Why? After all, it is lonely and, at times, very depressing, but we keep at it. So, why? Because we believe in ourselves and we believe in what we are doing. That's it. And We get inspiration from wherever we can find it. And, through discipline, we continue. What we create may be considered worthless by some, but, we continue nonetheless. As for discipline? How can I quit when there are so many less fortunate than me that never do. How can I give up, when there are so many that never do. Failure is just another learning process. As you read you will find errors. Making mistakes is a part of the learning experience Besides, it's an opportunity to expose the errors and make corrections. Enjoy Reading. You are free to write to me at any time. [email protected]
