Amidst betrayal and resurrection rumors, James must decide where his loyalties truly lie. James ben Joseph wrestles with the pain of his older brother's death. He never believed Jesus was a rebel, but his brother's radical teachings drew dangerous attention from the Pharisees. Traveling to Jerusalem for Passover, James hoped to convince Jesus to abandon his reckless ideas and come home. Betrayal and conflict led to Jesus' arrest and crucifixion, and to protect his family, James turned his back on his brother. As rumors spread that Jesus has risen from the dead, James' sorrow mixes with fear of persecution. Determined to protect his family from further chaos, he sets out to uncover who is spreading these dangerous claims. As the truth unfolds, James faces a decision that could change his and his siblings' lives forever. Step into the world of first-century Jerusalem and follow James on his journey of faith in James, Book 1 of the Servant Siblings series.

College rule (also known as medium ruled paper) is the most common lined paper in use in the United States. It is generally used in middle school through to college and is also popular with adults. This is a good choice for teen or adult notebooks and composition books (known as exercise books outside the US).

The letter of James has a clear and compelling message: faith in Jesus Christ must make a difference in how we live. James calls individual believers and the church to live with integrity, to be "whole" people and not "double-minded." What we believe and know must be reflected in what we say and do. Although intensely practical, the letter is not merely a checklist of rules to follow to be "good people." Rather, it is profoundly rooted in a theology of God's grace, goodness, and generosity and in the good news that God has birthed us by the word of truth, making us new creatures. Although the letter of James mentions Jesus infrequently, it is thoroughly soaked in the teachings of Jesus, particularly the Sermon on the Mount. At the heart of those teachings is the admonition to "love your neighbor as yourself." For James, such love is demonstrated in speaking truthfully and kindly, caring for the vulnerable, sharing generously with those in need, not privileging those with status and money, praying for and forgiving each other, and being patient in times of trial--to name only a few. The 38th volume in the Believers Church Bible Commentary series works at interpreting the letter of James with a view to how its original Jewish Christian readers would have heard it and how it continues to have resonance today. Scholar Sheila Klassen-Wiebe is attentive both to detailed exegetical issues and to how teachings fit into the larger context of the letter and the biblical story. Although the letter is sometimes perceived as disjointed bits of advice, this commentary argues that James has a coherent message intended to prod the church toward greater faithfulness and to encourage people to follow Jesus in all of life. About the Believers Church Bible Commentary series This readable commentary series is for all who seek more fully to understand the original message of Scripture and its meaning for today--Sunday school teachers, members of Bible study groups, students, pastors, and other seekers. --From the Series Foreword

From the bestselling author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The BFG! Roald Dahl was a champion of the underdog and all things little—in this case, an orphaned boy oppressed by two nasty, self-centered aunts. How James escapes his miserable life with the horrible aunts and becomes a hero is a Dahlicious fantasy of the highest order. You will never forget resourceful little James and his new family of magically overgrown insects—a ladybug, a spider, a grasshopper, a glowworm, a silkworm, and the chronic complainer, a centipede with a hundred gorgeous shoes. Their adventures aboard a luscious peach as large as a house take them across the Atlantic Ocean, through waters infested with peach-eating sharks and skies inhabited by malevolent Cloudmen, to a ticker-tape parade in New York City. This happily ever after contemporary fairy tale is a twentieth-century classic that every child deserves to know. And Lane Smith's endearingly funny illustrations are a perfect match for the text."All the gruesome imagery of old-fashioned fairy tales and a good measure of their breathtaking delight." —Kirkus Reviews"A stunning book, to be cherished for its story, a superb fantasy." —The Chicago Tribune"The most original fantasy that has been published in a long time...[it] may well become a classic." —San Francisco Chronicle
