Everyone knows how clouds are formed: evaporation, accumulation, condensation, and (eventually) precipitation. However, very few know that human souls behave in much the same way.In the 1930s, Garden City, Kansas, bore little resemblance to its name. Suffering from the longest continuous drought in the nation's history, the advent of the worldwide economic downturn, known as the Great Depression, proved especially devastating to the farming communities of the Plain States. Instead of their despair dissolving with the storm, the town collapses into panic and then madness. Will the cloud prove to be a herald of salvation or a portent of doom?At once, the girl (Polly) becomes embroiled in a conflict between faith and fear, as she is presented with a unique opportunity to save her town. But at what cost?

This is a memoir of my life after I decided to change my career from hospital blood bank medical technology to the dynamic and exciting area of pharmaceutical sales in the late nineteen seventies. I discovered many new hidden facets of my personality that allowed me to achieve and excel in pharmaceutical sales. I tell of the many intricacies and techniques for marketing prescription medicines to community physicians. I was ultimately able to fulfill my dream to work in The Upjohn Company's unique research liaison unit for drug development and commercialization, MSL aka Medical Sciences Liaison. I met and worked as a colleague with many of the foremost academic research physicians and ph. Ds. in medical schools throughout the United States. This was an era of drastic change and revolution in medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.
