- Jessica Zucker, Ph.D. Clinical psychologist and writer specializing in women's reproductive health describes the book as: "A compelling read from start to finish, this supportive guide to navigating pregnancy and infant loss will arm you with life-changing tools that will help you feel part of a dynamic community. The complexities of pregnancy and infant loss are explored by survivors themselves rendering this must-read book a first hand personal narrative that invites people to feel less alone in the aftermath of such devastating experiences. Grief knows no timeline and this thoughtful book does an exceptional job of explicating ways that society could more sensitively embody this concept by normalizing the spectrum of mourning. Profound losses create seismic changes in self-image, relationships, and overall identity. Many women blame themselves for their reproductive hardships and harbor monumental shame as a result. Contributors delve into crevices of their minds and hearts and courageously express the complexities of their processes- journeys that should be shared and not silenced, providing enlivening inspiration and raw accounts of how life perspectives are invariably altered in the wake of loss. This accessible guide provides valuable tips and resources for grieving families which serve as a grounding way to acknowledge the pain, ease the grief, and explore pockets of hope. A vital resource for anyone who has experienced these kinds of losses and those who love them." - Jessica Zucker, Ph.D. Clinical psychologist and writer specializing in women's reproductive health Contributions by: Alexa Bigwarfe, Amy Hillis, Anna Whiston Donaldson, AnnMarie Gubenko, Christina Russo-Sporer, Dana Weinstein, Heather O'Brien Webb, Jennie Goutet, Jessica Watson, Kathy Glow, Kathy Radigan, Katia Bishops, Kelly DeBie, Kelly Powell, Kristi Bothur, Lizzi Rogers, Marcia Kester Doyle, Rachel Raper, Regina Petsch, Sandi Haustein, Sarah Hackett, Sarah Rudell Beach, Sheila Quirke, Starr Bryson, Stephanie Sprenger, Suzanne M. For as long as she can remember, Emma Anderson has dreamed of spending a year abroad in New Zealand-the land of the long white cloud...and middle earth. When her cousin Lily and her fianc invite her to stay with them for a year in their Auckland flat while she attends the university, her dreams become reality. Emma wasn't looking for love when she strolled through the doors of Auckland International Airport, but you know what they say about looking for love. When you're not looking for it...that's when it finds you. Falling for a handsome Kiwi wasn't what she planned for her time in New Zealand, but when Emma meets Noah in an Auckland club, she's instantly drawn to the sexy rugby player. She can't ignore their overwhelming attraction...And doesn't want to. Since childhood, Noah Parker's life has revolved around rugby, with little time left over for anything else, including a serious relationship. But he's grown weary of the life he's been living, and coming home to an empty house...and bed...every night has left him lonely. He wants more. He wants something special. Something meaningful. And one look at Emma Anderson, and he wants her. Noah finds himself pulled towards Emma, not just because of her stunning beauty, but her humor and sweet soul pull at him as well. He felt like his life had always been in black and white and, all of a sudden, there were colors all around him. Bright, beautiful colors. Everywhere. He never imagined a woman could have a hold on him the way Emma does, but the threat of her leaving him could destroy him. Emma and Noah know that what they share is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, but what will they do when the ties that bind are located on opposite ends of the earth? What will they do when Emma's inevitable departure threatens to tear them apart? Can they find a way to forever when their world pulls them apart?

FelicityI didn't expect to find a half-dressed man in my new kitchen. I really didn't expect him to claim that I was the intruder. It turns out his mom is my landlord, and she's trying to matchmake us. Unluckily for me, surly lumberjack-lookalike Wyatt wants nothing to do with me. But I've always been too stubborn for my own good, and his grumpiness only makes me more determined to bring a little joy to his life. WyattI'm nursing a battered heart and a bruised ego. Single mother Bex Cane doesn't have time for love. It's hard enough managing three jobs and her precocious five-year-old daughter Izzy. Not after she dumped his brother and walked out of their lives. Considering how close he'd come to making a fool of himself by proclaiming his love for her when she was unavailable, he'd been happy to see the end of temptation. But now she's back in his life, and he can't help noticing that her daughter looks an awful lot like his brother. He'll get to the bottom of the mystery-even if it stirs feelings he'd thought long dead. Despite their history, Bex and Michael can't resist the spark between them. But when Michael's brother arrives in the bay, can their unexpected passion survive?

Now, I've got bad guys chasing after me, so-called "good guys" trying to experiment on me, and Evil Villains threatening to cut out my brain The good news is, there's a chance I could get my normal life back. Can we be good partisans without demonizing our political opponents? Using insights from political science and social psychology, this book argues for the distinction between positive and negative partisanship. As such, strong support for a political party does not have to be accompanied by the vilification of the opposing party and its members. Utilizing data from five different countries, Bankert demonstrates that positive and negative partisanship are independent concepts with distinct consequences for political behavior, including citizens' political participation and their commitment to democratic norms and values. The book concludes with the hopeful message that partisanship is an essential pillar of representative and liberal democracy.
Growing Hope takes a closer look at how such narratives can carry the promise of a better future in the face of grim realities. It brings together two kinds of narratives that are rarely considered in conjunction: stories about urban community gardening and stories about vegan food justice. It shows that there is much common ground between these movements and that the stories told by them are worth exploring as part of a larger narrative about creating a better and more equitable future. In the United States, this is especially true for the stories told by and about people of color and their historically marginalized communities. Employing an econarratological approach informed by critical food studies, environmental justice ecocriticism, and transmedia studies, Growing Hope explores a selection of narratives about people who fight against food injustice and the ideologies sustaining it: stories about defiant gardening and culinary self-empowerment.

The introduction and diffusion of international subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services in the 2010s represented the most significant disruption of established national broadcast and pay-TV ecologies in their long history. Using an in-depth Australian case study, this book narrates this profound period of proliferation. It also considers how incumbent commercial networks, pay-TV providers and public service broadcasters developed into online TV providers, albeit in assorted ways. In so doing, it conceives of the early impact of online TV (2015–2020) more broadly and acknowledges the role of both new and old TV players. The industry-wide shift towards online TV over this period also impacted existing television drama production cultures. SVOD services provided a fruitful avenue for the distribution of existing archives and slowly began to support the production of new Australian content with an increasingly global focus. However, the formal arrival of online TV certainly did not usher in the boom in original local television drama many anticipated. Pivoting and Producing for Online TV: Australia's Transition advances the macro-analysis of television production strategies. This book will be useful to students and researchers interested in media, film, and cultural studies.
This is the story of a child growing up in war-torn Northern Ireland; of a musician who migrated to the United States with only $50 and a guitar; of a man who braved the bridges of New York City and the collapse of the Twin Towers. This is the story of Patrick O'Kane. From the turbulent streets of Troubles-era Derry to the highest barrels of the George Washington Bridge, the poems of Troubles explore a daughter's interpretations of a father's life that has been anything but ordinary.
