It was supposed to be a routine trip to Chicagoland for Colin Pearce. A long-awaited reunion with Sarah Morton, the woman he almost married, and the child they had together. But upon his arrival in the western suburbs, Pearce learns that he is there for another, darker purpose. As part of an international goodwill effort, Enteron, a large energy company based in the area, has been contracted by the U.S. government to assist the North Korean regime's efforts to stabilize its nuclear energy program. But the CIA believes Enteron is up to something more sinister and sends Pearce in to investigate. Soon, he finds himself enveloped in an intricate conspiracy that could lead to an eruption of conflict on the Korean peninsula and bring war to the United States. From a hangar in West Chicago to a parking lot in Dallas, an alley in Anchorage, and the skies over the vast Pacific, Colin Pearce will be challenged in ways he hasn't encountered before. He'll will be called upon to fly the most dangerous mission of his life, trusting his life to a rogue North Korean general who is desperately trying to hold his country together. And to save the ones he loves, Pearce will have to reawaken the Darkness that lives inside of him and hope he can be savage enough to take down the ruthless enemies in his way.

Colin Baker's career as an actor spans six decades of television and theatre. Millions know him best as the colourfully-dressed Sixth Doctor in Doctor Who, a character that has endured - and will continue to endure - through generations. This is Colin's own story, in conversation with interviewer Nicholas Briggs.
Children are always warned to steer clear of strangers - but what happens when you need to seek help from one? Libby is shopping with her mum in the town centre one day when they happen to meet Mrs Cook and her son Connor. Connor and Libby immediately start running around, letting go of their mums’ hands and getting into every corner of the high street. When they’re lost in the crowd, both of them are very upset and worried. But Libby suddenly remembers what the police officer said when they visited her school and remembers the word UNIFORM. This is the word to help identify who a person is and if they are safe. Using this as their starting point, the two children must find a safe stranger to help them find their way back to their worried mums!
King Colin is feeling righter grumpy one morning. He does what he wants, when he wants because he is King and he can. His family try to tell him to behave better but he doesn't listen to them. It is only when Great Queen Connie shows up that things start to change. Turns out even Kings can be sent to their rooms by their mothers when they're naughty! Illustrated by Kimberley Scott.
Do you enjoy peeking "behind the curtain" when the great and powerful reveal their true human nature? In My Time with General Colin Powell, you will learn about his tenure as Secretary of State, his professional speaking career, see his humorous side, and what a beloved humanitarian he was.General Powell was well respected and loved by people on both sides of the political divide. He was the youngest and the nation's first African American Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest position in the US Military. He was also the first African American appointed Secretary of State, the world's leading diplomat. The world saw him as a military leader, a diplomat, a senior statesman, and an advocate for young people. To friends and family, he was so much more -funny, charming, self-deprecating, practical, generous, gracious and kind. He was also a song and dance man, a car aficionado, a handyman, a lover of comfort food, a standup comedian, and a storyteller.Lautenslager shares a small portion of her time of over 25 years of working with General Powell. She reveals how close they became with a shorthand of knowing side glances and raised eyebrows in her enlightening memoir.Leslie Lautenslager's career in protocol began in 1986 when she was hired by U.S. Chief of Protocol Selwa "Lucky" Roosevelt as assistant to the manager of Blair House, the President's Guest House. Ambassador Roosevelt later promoted her to a protocol officer in the Ceremonials and then Visits division at the U.S. State Department. In addition to working on state and official visits of chiefs of state and heads of government, she organized and lead delegations representing President Reagan at various events around the world. After her administration appointment ended, Leslie joined the Battle of Normandy Foundation where she oversaw special events and protocol for over five years leading up to the 50th anniversary of D-Day.In April 1996 Lautenslager was hired by the co-founders of the Washington Speakers Bureau to assist one of the most popular speakers on the international stage: General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.) and her life changed. Despite their different backgrounds, they quickly developed a unique rapport and language that lasted until his death over 25 years later. On the professional speaking circuit, she was his liaison to clients, responsible for the logistical details of travel and preparations to make him "smart" about each event.A graduate of the College of William & Mary, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and in Fine Arts. www.leslielautenslager.comBradley Harper is a retired US Army COL and pathologist who, after a brief and undistinguished stint as an Infantry officer went to medical school.
