This book discusses various parts of the theory of mixed type partial differential equations with boundary conditions such as: Chaplygin's classical dynamical equation of mixed type, the theory of regularity of solutions in the sense of Tricomi, Tricomi's fundamental idea and one-dimensional singular integral equations on non-Carleman type, Gellerstedt's characteristic problem and Frankl's non-characteristic problem, Bitsadze and Lavrentjev's mixed type boundary value problems, quasi-regularity of solutions in the classical sense. Some of the latest results of the author are also presented in this book.

Numerical Analysis of Nonlinear Partial Differential-Algebraic Equations
Various mathematical models in many application areas give rise to systems of so called partial or abstract differential-algebraic equations (ADAEs). A substantial mathematical treatment of nonlinear ADAEs is still at an initial stage. In this thesis two approaches for treating nonlinear ADAEs are presented. The first one represents an extension of an approach by Tischendorf for the treatment of a specific class of linear ADAEs to the nonlinear case. It is based on the Galerkin approach and the theory of monotone operators for evolution equations. Unique solvability of the ADAE and strong convergence of the Galerkin solutions is proven. Furthermore it is shown that this class of ADAEs has Perturbation Index 1 and at most ADAE Index 1. In the second approach we formulate two prototypes of coupled systems where a semi-explicit differential-algebraic equation is coupled to an infinite dimensional algebraic operator equation or an evolution equation. For both prototypes unique solvability, strong convergence of Galerkin solutions and a Perturbation Index 1 result is shown. Both prototypes can be applied to concrete coupled systems in circuit simulation relying on a new global solvability result for the nonlinear equations of the Modified Nodal Analysis under suitable topological assumptions.
Everything in Moderation My Life and Times - Part 2 1961Ð1990
Michael McGregor is an unconventional character who often found it necessary to make his own rules and stick to them, whatever the outcome. In this second volume of his autobiography he tells of marriage and children, properties and moving from employment to the formation of his own ground breaking businesses focusing on environmental issues and the promotion of artisan crafts. Unfortunately marital life was another story with a wife who today would have been diagnosed with chronic bi-polar creating a roller coaster of family life from extreme pleasure to horrific nightmares. He did get there and was eventually able to achieve most ofhis plans, but was finally floored by a traumatic divorce which seemed to have no ending. In the outcome I fought the Lawand the Law won. ItOs all here with no punches pulled in the second part of Michael McGregorOs autobiography Everything in Moderation
Screenwriting and the Unified Theory of Narrative: Part I - The Unified Narrative Structure
Screenwriting and The Unified Theory of Narrative, Part I provides an advanced investigation of narrative structure for readers who wish to understand cinematic storytelling not in terms of its bits and pieces, but as a comprehensive whole. A great story is not a collection of parts, but a process by which many elements interact to create a single meaningful experience. By seeking the principles of these interactions, this book unites the formerly separate structures of plot, character, and theme to reveal for the first time the single overarching structure by which every successful traditionally-told Hollywood or American Independent film abides, regardless of genre, premise, style, or tone. The unified narrative structure is not a formula. It simply reveals the natural method by which great cinematic stories always have and always will unite their many elements into a cohesive line of action that communicates as well as entertains. Whether it be celebratory story like Star Wars, a cautionary tale like Raging Bull, a tragic narrative like Chinatown, or a cynical film like The Godfather, the interactions between plot, character, and theme remain exactly the same. With its approach, The Unified Narrative Structure comes as close as currently possible to a truly universal model of cinematic storytelling; one that takes into account all three dimensions of narrative and stands applicable to virtually any traditional feature-length film.
Screenwriting and the Unified Theory of Narrative: Part II: Genre, Pattern & the Concept of Total Meaning
Part II: Genre, Pattern & The Concept of Total Meaning completes the Unified Theory of Narrative by going far beneath cinematic storytelling's surface to reveal its hidden structures of meaning. No previous book has explored the thematic dimension of screencraft in such depth or detail; using an interdisciplinary approach to explain the psychological, sociological, and cultural constructs which have shaped the feature film into the complex form of discourse we know today. In Part II you will find: - The properties of myth behind all storytelling- The purpose and origin of cinematic genres- The phenomenon of plot patterns and its connection to cultural belief- The explicit lessons found in protagonist psychology- The ideological nature of dramatic conflict- And most importantly, the connection between these elements and our most basic psychological and sociological needs.Part II: Genre, Pattern & The Concept of Total Meaning is about far more than screencraft. It is about the intimate relationship between storytelling and humanity itself. Since its beginnings, humanity has used story to make sense of its world, express its beliefs, and give life a sense of order and meaning. By revealing the cinematic story's ideological structures, and ultimately unifying them with the physical elements presented in Part I, Genre, Pattern & The Concept of Total Meaning shows how modern cinematic storytelling continues this tradition; resulting in an endless multitude of narratives, each doing their part to serve human society with lessons, arguments, and statements of belief.

Humanity's interest in the heavens has been universal and enduring. Humans are driven to explore the unknown, discover new worlds, push the boundaries of our scientific and technical limits, and then push further. The intangible desire to explore and challenge the boundaries of what we know and where we have been has provided benefits to our society for centuries.Human space exploration helps to address fundamental questions about our place in the Universe and the history of our solar system. Through addressing the challenges related to human space exploration we expand technology, create new industries, and help to foster a peaceful connection with other nations. Curiosity and exploration are vital to the human spirit and accepting the challenge of going deeper into space will invite the citizens of the world today and the generations of tomorrow to join Me on this imaginative journey of poetry and short stories into our space .
Everything in Moderation My Life and Times - Part 1 1940-1960: A Matter of Survival
Born in May 1940 it was not a good start for Michael McGregor and his mother alone in the East End of London and it got even worse when the blitz began a few months later. Where the family were living over 40% of the houses had been badly damaged or destroyed. After the family home was bombed, they were re-located to nearby Dagenham. And things didn't get that much better when the war eventually ended. Greatly influenced by his East End roots and background Mike spent the greater part of his teenage years at work and play in those places most familiar to him. It was an amazing journey, a kind of Jekyll and Hyde existence of excitement and adventure and at the same time with danger often on the horizon. By the end of the 1950's London had become a different kind of place. Organised crime was violent and out of control and police corruption rife at almost every level with much of it centred around the old East End.

A first-hand account of what goes on in some of London's saunas and sex clubs, and on the phone-sex chat-lines. Generous and intimate details, as well as a no holds barred exploration of promiscuity, The Confessions of a Sex Addict, Part 1 is also the story of artists in London. Of Michael Wynne's journey to become a writer, as well as his lesbian painter friend, McKenzie, and Zaid, the kathak dancer, all of them trying to make a living while making art. Covering the first six months of 2010, the book is also a chronicle of a year in which an earthquake devastated Haiti, floods wrecked large parts of Pakistan, and Eyjafjallaj kull erupted. Never before has a single writer elaborated on the steamy, anonymous goings-on of gay men in subterranean London with such psychological and physical honesty. Review in Gay Times, London (February 2012): "It is a gay sex memoir that miraculously manages to go beyond sensationalist arousal... As much as it is a book about sex - abundant and mostly anonymous - it's equally about relationships and the ways gay men relate to each other (however brief the timescale)... It's not what you'd expect from this 'type' of book, and is all the more refreshing for it."
