My experience with a sports agent for several years on a personal and business standpoint led me to this book. All of the information here is factual and it is all derived from my experience as a gofer, friend, associate, contractor, and dog of a sports agent who is by far a very, very unique character.

This title presents three rites of passage plays for the young person in all of us, brilliantly adapted from the books of three best-selling authors. In Michael Morpurgo's moving tale of youth cut short, seventeen year-old Tommo Peaceful relives his innocent rural past as he spends his last night in the trenches of World War One. In Philip Pullman's "Aladdin", this ancient magical tale is retold as a story of ambition and self-advancement, a young man's journey from lazy good-for-nothing to great wealth and power. And in Jill Tomlinson's delightfully witty classic, a fledgling Barn Owl conquers his fears through a series of eye-opening encounters. These plays are for all ages.

The Struggle for Jerusalem's Holy Places

The Struggle for Jerusalem's Holy Places

Wendy Pullan; Maximilian Sternberg; Lefkos Kyriacou; Craig Larkin; Michael Dumper

Routledge

The Struggle for Jerusalem’s Holy Places investigates the role of architecture and urban identity in relation to the political economy of the city and its wider state context seen through the lens of the holy places. Reflecting the broad disciplinary backgrounds of the authors, this book provides perspectives from architecture, urbanism, and politics, and provides in-depth investigations of historical, ethnographic and policy-related case studies. The research is substantiated by fieldwork carried out in Jerusalem over the past ten years as part of the ESRC Large Grants project ‘Conflict in Cities’. By analysing new dynamics of radicalisation through land seizure, the politicisation of parklands and tourism, the strategic manipulation of archaeological and historical narratives and material culture, and through examination of general appropriation of Jerusalem’s varied rituals, memories and symbolism for factional uses, the book reveals how possibilities of co- existence are seriously threatened in Jerusalem. Shedding new light on the key role played by everyday urban life and its spatial settings for any future political agreements about the city and its religious sites, this book is a useful reference work for students and scholars of Middle East Studies, Architecture, Religion and Urban Studies.

For most, life is a series of seasons. The cold dark bitterness of a hard winter is in fair exchange for the inevitable warmth of the spring when all things seem possible and some good and cheer can be realized. Perhaps. But for some, they are born into an endless winter. The warmth and comfort of spring eludes them, seemingly for a lifetime. Promise can be masked by a life void of care and kindness. So it was with Rob Gregory and Pamela Freeman, whose lives converge one summer night in a tavern in the little town of Minster, Ohio. It was a meeting of chosen opportunity, leading to decades of more random, fleeting moments of possibility alternating between promise and regret.Mating For Life brings the two eighteen-year-olds together months after graduation from high school in 1972. Several intense weeks bring them to the brink of an eternal union, but only the degrees to which each of them can call upon the strength of the human spirit will determine the eventual verdict of that heady time of love and risk they once knew.Adversity can seem to some a thing that appears misplaced in the life of a gentle soul. Peace can seem to others a feather just beyond the grasp as it flutters away in a constant breeze.Mating For Life is a recognition that disjointed circumstances and chance play a larger role in our lives than we would prefer or wish for in our search for explanations and orderliness.
