Sebbene non sia stata concepita come un concerto in stile romantico, essa meriterebbe molta piu attenzione di quanta ne abbia ricevuta finora da parte di critici e studiosi di tale periodo e, piu in generale, da parte di tutte le personalita di rilievo in campo artistico e musicale, specialmente considerando il fatto che fino alla pubblicazione di questo studio, non sono mai esistiti trattati specifici inerenti tale composizione. E' per questa ragione che l'autore, Mirko Spinsanti, si e cimentato in un percorso molto interessante di approfondimento dei vari aspetti riguardanti la produzione musicale del grande artista Cesar Franck, soffermandosi con particolare attenzione su una accurata analisi del poema sinfonico per pianoforte ed orchestra che da il nome al suo libro.
