The Night is a Constant Lover is a very personal book in which the author has not been afraid to reveal the hopes, wants, needs, and desires of his own soul. Though autobiographical the book touches upon universal truths common to every heart. It is the kind of book where you will hear yourself speaking just like in pop songs. It seems that some of us, as children, were too impressionable and when we were introduced to stories like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, by the brothers Grimm, and Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault, as well as countless other fairy tales, they set us on a course of searching for our own "happily ever after". These poems chart the course of such a quest. They take the longings that we all experience and put them into words for us so that we might better understand our own emotions. This volume of poems touches our soul when it talks of the loneliness that drives us to search for love, the exhilaration we experience when at last we find that one special someone, and the pain and longing that return when love walks away. It also promises the hope of love returning like the morning sun. The Night is a Constant Lover is an honest and moving autobiography of a hungry heart. Byron has been inspired by the writings of E.E. Cummings, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Robert Frost, Rod McKuen, and Walt Whitman.

Quietly atmospheric and darkly foreboding, A Plea for Constant Motion is an ominous, and occasionally unnerving, new work of fiction by award-winning author Paul CarlucciPenetrating and visceral, yet always offset by small moments of tenderness and humour, A Plea for Constant Motion is a powerful examination of the innate desire in everyone to change their lives and strive for something better. Two couples share a disastrous dinner after their children are killed in a botched kidnapping overseas. A teacher with a passion for cartography orchestrates a bizarre apology after intentionally hitting a student. Desperate to be friends, a man ignores his neighbour’s strange behaviour to the peril of himself and others. A young girl babysits for a family friend, dimly aware that her presence is required for more than just childcare.Dexterously divided into two parts and a surreal intermission, the characters in these stories find themselves confronted by situations that leave them either struggling to escape or firmly rooted in place. Paul Carlucci’s formidable work is by turns familiar and disquieting, sober and surreal, a stark and carefully crafted examination of the human condition.

This book traces the historical origins, evolution, and continuing influence ofliberal and conservative political ideology on American Defense policy. The study concentrates on a comparison of the periods 1783-1800, the military debates of the early republic, and 1989-1994, the current debates on the structure of the post-Cold War American Military. The central thesis is that the parallels between the public debates on the proposed downsizing of the United States' Armed Forces in the 1990s and the debates on the creation of a permanent American military establishment in the 1780s and 1790s reflect the continuing influence of fundamental republican/liberal and federalist/conservative political ideologies. During the nation's solidified into coherent political movements which continue to dominate public debate. The book concludes that an understanding of the origin and nature of these pro and anti-military political prejudices is essential if military leaders are going to design future forces that will accommodate the concerns of all parties. Specifically, these force structures must allow for the complex and unique relationship between American society, the professional military, and the citizen soldier.

Coopers Constant answers fundamental questions about human folly. Why did an Alabama man go to the police station to complain about being cheated in a drug deal? Why did an Idaho woman request that the highway department remove the Deer Crossing sign on her road because too many deer were being hit by cars? The Peter Principle and the Dilbert Principle attempted to explain incompetence in organizations, and Warren Buffett spoke of the three is of the business cyclethe third i standing for the idiots, who screw it all up. Unfortunately, Dr. Peter, Scott Adams, and Warren Buffett failed to ask, "Why are so many peoplethe idiotsincompetent in the first place?" This book furnishes the answer: Coopers Constant. It introduces the reader to the mindless M-type and the M-organization, or MORG. Dont read this book unless you are willing to change your view of humanity.

The Sri Lankan ethnic conflict that has occurred largely between Sinhala Buddhists and Tamil Hindus is marked by a degree of religious tolerance that sees both communities worshiping together. This study describes one important site of such worship, the ancient Hindu temple complex of Munnesvaram. Standing adjacent to one of Sri Lanka's historical western ports, the fortunes of the Munnesvaram temples have waxed and waned through the years of turbulence, violence and social change that have been the country's lot since the advent of European colonialism in the Indian Ocean. Bastin recounts the story of these temples and analyses how the Hindu temple is reproduced as a center of worship amidst conflict and competition.

With contributions from more than 80 participants, Freedom Is A Constant Struggle is one of the most comprehensive books ever published about the civil rights movement in Mississippi. The anthology focuses on the critical year of 1964, when civil rights workers were beaten, jailed, and murdered, yet freedom schools were established, thousands registered to vote, and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party challenged segregated elections. The participants of Freedom Summer have gracefully aged. Some have died. In this book, their stories are told in an unprecedented array of songs, articles, photographs, and drawings, collectively recounting the fierce battle to bring equal rights to Mississippi. Much of the content is controversial. All of it is riveting, eyewitness history.Contributors include Victoria Gray Adams, George Ballis, Rita Schwerner Bender, Julian Bond, Guy and Candie Carawan, Ben Chaney, Charlie Cobb, Judy Collins, Sis Cunningham, Dave Dennis, Bob Dylan, Marion Wright Edelman, Myrlie Evers, James Forman, Carolyn Goodman, Joanne Grant, Dick Gregory, Lawrence Guyot, Matt Herron, Marshall Jones, Matthew Jones, William Kunstler, Dorie Ladner, Mark Lane, John Lewis, Jerry Mitchell, Mamie Till Mobley, Bob Moses, Jack Newfield, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Bernice Johnson Reagon, Pete Seeger, Cleveland Sellers, Bob Zellner, Howard Zinn, and many others.
