The Fruit of the Nut: Oneness . . . In a Nutshell

The Fruit of the Nut: Oneness . . . In a Nutshell

Max F. Taylor

2011
nidottu
One day, on a contemplative walk, he asked the universe what should be his purpose and meaning in life. The immediate answer was "go forth and be My Consciousness." Since that time, Consciousness has been his main focus. In The Fruit of the Nut, retired art professor and philosopher Max Taylor demonstrates simply and concisely the theory the "all is one in consciousness."
The Green Energy Ship Concept

The Green Energy Ship Concept

Max F. Platzer; Nesrin Sarigul-Klijn

Springer Nature Switzerland AG
2020
nidottu
This groundbreaking book aims to show that technology currently exists to build and operate large autonomous sailing ships equipped with hydrokinetic turbines and electrolysers that could operate in high-wind ocean areas. This technology would enable seawater to be converted into storable hydrogen, thereby tapping into an inexhaustible energy reservoir sufficient for the transition to an emission-free global economy. The book is presented in two parts. Part one presents a broad look at possible solutions to the climate change challenge and provides an overview of current approaches. Part two introduces 12 specific technologies that could enable the green energy ship concept.

Science Is Not A Quiet Life: Unravelling The Atomic Mechanism Of Haemoglobin

Science Is Not A Quiet Life: Unravelling The Atomic Mechanism Of Haemoglobin

Max F Perutz

World Scientific Publishing Co Pte Ltd
1998
sidottu
Linus Pauling called haemoglobin the most interesting and important of molecules. This important volume shows how X-ray crystallography was used to determine its bewilderingly complex atomic structure and to unravel the stereochemical mechanisms of its respiratory functions. It introduces isomorphous replacement with heavy atoms which led to the first protein structures, haemoglobin and its simpler relative myoglobin. Later papers deal with the stereochemistry of the cooperative effects of haemoglobin, with the relationships between the structures and impaired functions of abnormal haemoglobin, with species adaptation of haemoglobin, and with its action as a drug receptor and as an oxygen sensor. The final papers deal with amino acid repeats which act as polar zippers and their role in certain inherited neurodegenerative diseases.

Teachers Versus Technocrats

In Teachers Versus Technocrats, author Harry Wolcott draws on his dual perspective as an educator and an anthropologist to provide a unique and penetrating look at the dynamics of a federally funded research and development project and to analyze what happened when university researchers and school district administrators attempted to introduce an experimental planning and evaluation system in an operating school district. Based on three years of research in which Wolcott uses a variety of anthropological field techniques, this study into the school's SPECS (School Planning, Evaluation, and Communication System) program reveals insight into the project's impact on teachers and administrators and analyzes the basic cultural patterns and relationships among educators. Originally published in 1977, this new edition includes an updated preface by the author and should be valuable to educators and anthropologists alike.
Functions of a Complex Variable: Theory And Technique

Functions of a Complex Variable: Theory And Technique

Society for Industrial Applied Mathematics,U.S.
2005
pokkari
Functions of a complex variable are used to solve applications in various branches of mathematics, science, and engineering. This is a book in a special category of influential classics because it is based on the authors' extensive experience in modeling complicated situations and providing analytic solutions. It makes available to readers a comprehensive range of these analytical techniques based upon complex variable theory. Proficiency in these techniques requires practice. The authors provide many exercises, incorporating them into the body of the text. By completing a substantial number of these exercises, the reader will more fully benefit from this book.
