The Grass is Greener When the Sun is Yellow

The Grass is Greener When the Sun is Yellow

In The grass is greener when the sun is yellow, poets Sarah Rosenthal and Valerie Witte engage with the work of dancer-choreographers Simone Forti and Yvonne Rainer. Through research into these innovative women's dances, ideas, and lives, Rosenthal and Witte use language from and about the choreographers to create a series of co-written sonnets that are interwoven with letters between the two poets. These letters describe the process of composing the poems and branch into discussions of dance, poetics, gender, transgression, the unfolding disaster of the current political scene, and much else, in the associative weave that epistolary form enacts. Together, the poems and letters construct an environment of reflection, intimacy, and vulnerability, one that is both challenging and invitational.

I have found that human nature is the same today as it was years ago. We are driven by the same passions today as in the past.Growing up, Jeffery Davis Page never learned much about his family's history. The older generations were very tight-lipped about their past, as though they were ashamed. Jeff assumed their silence was due to his family's Southern roots, and the South's controversial history, but he didn't know anything for certain. Ready to unveil the mystery surrounding his family's background, Jeff launched into a five-year journey to discover the details of his past, the secrets of his ancestry, and the impacts his family made throughout American history. No Grass Grows Under Our Feet is an homage to family legacy, Southern culture, and the many paths that led us to where we are today.

In the introduction to my book, It Seems like Only Yesterday I write: "I have at last finished this, my tenth book, and I have to confess that wasn't always an easy task. I don't know why, but it often seemed that the more I wrote, the less I had down on paper. Fortunately, one day upon having finished chapter thirty-three, I was content and knew that I had completed my shortest book."Well, it's no longer my shortest book-this one is, and this one was easier to write because I was content when I'd finished only twenty-three chapters instead of thirty-three but not entirely so as I later added five more.I'll now say what I always say when I write the introduction to one of the bilingual books in this series: that I wrote it for fun, to save my experiences for posterity, and most importantly to improve my Spanish. It goes without saying that I would also hope that readers (if there are any) will enjoy this, my eleventh book. I gave It Seems like Only Yesterday to two friends and I was glad to learn that both of them had finished the book by the end of the week and that they said they liked the stories. I hope that they (and you) will like the stories in this book as well.

This is my first young adult book. My grandkids kept asking me for one of my books and they were all full of adult words, thoughts, and actions-clearly not appropriate for young readers. So I wrote this one.I'm sure you've heard the clich about the grass always being greener. Sometimes it's true-sometimes it's not. It's usually a little more complicated than that. There are no adult words beyond what I hear tweens use every day. And no sex beyond holding hands, giving hugs, and kissing. While the book contains some violence and death, it is not graphic and I feel it is presented in a way that most young readers would understand without getting disturbed. However, being a young reader book doesn't mean that the plots and subplots are not interesting. Susannah and her friends are dropped into the middle of a civil war. There are good people and bad people on both sides of the portal. Deciding who is whom becomes a pretty important question to figure out. After the Earthlings get cloned, things really get complicated. Imagine saying "Hi " to yourself So pull up a chair and enter a world of Magic with dragons, mages, and swords. It is called Gleepth. You can only get there once a year, and only for a few minutes. But no one told Susannah that when she stepped into the portal and into a life beyond anything she had ever dreamed. And there was no way back beyond waiting a year for the next window.

The Grass Is Always Greenest Under Our Own Feet is the transformative and metaphysical journey of two superhero teenagers, Synchronicity and Serendipity Heavenridge, who come from the town of Starseed, a Utopian village where everyone's aura shines brightly and the grass is always green under their feet. The intuitively gifted siblings answer a call for help to go on a divine mission to the town of Lost Valley, a place caught up in the trauma and drama of the old paradigm of lack and limitation. There, they explore and experience concepts foreign to them, such as fear, illness, doom, greed, racism, polluted air and water, scarcity, and lack of compassion. Ultimately, they help to uplift, heal, transform and shift the lower vibrations of the townspeople into unconditional love consciousness before it's too late.

In 1971, fewer than 270,000 girls in the U.S. participated in high school athletics, and not a single school offered girls' soccer. The passage of Title IX in 1972 heralded a sea change in sports and girls flooded the soccer fields across the country. Women born too early to receive the full benefits of Title IX refused to stay on the sidelines. They took to the filed to play soccer and discovered a new passion that has endured into their fifties, sixties, and beyond. How did they come to play such a demanding sport? What were the challenges of learning the game, establishing teams and leagues, and finding fields? What were their experiences as coaches, referees, and administrators in the male-dominated soccer establishment? And now of an age when joints ache, vision has deteriorated, and running is painful, why are so many of them still playing? This is their story, in their words.

This yere Professor is on the ranch, and he's a dandy. After the rodeo, you jest sachay up to him an' tell him what you've tole us. If he don't take the kinks outer yer, he's a fraud. See ""Gosh," exclaimed Dan, "I'll do it " They turned in. The Professor next day watched the rodeo from a platform erected near the biggest of our corrals. This was his first visit to California, and he was mightily impressed by the skill and vigour of the vaqueroes. To Ajax he declared that he was amazed to find such splendid specimens in that particular locality. Ajax smiled. "We have not much," he said, "but we feel that we have a right to expect high health. We used to say," he added, "that sickness was unknown in our hills till a wise doctor settled here from the East."The Professor frowned."I rose at six," he said austerely. "I made a microscopical examination of the water in your new spring, which rises, I venture to remind you, through soil which is undoubtedly diatomaceous.""That sounds awful.""Diatoms in a fossilised condition are silicious, and they are to be found in Virginia, in Bermuda, and here.""Professor, I am an ignoramus.""Then it is my duty to inform you that the man or woman who drinks water from that spring is swallowing millions of tiny flint knives, hard as diamond dust--indeed, diatomaceous earth is used commercially as a polishing powder.""You mean that if we drink that water...
