When Iris becomes an administrator at Hopewell, the local nursing home where Shelby volunteers, avoiding her becomes impossible. Seeing Iris causes her grief to resurface, and she relies on her father and friends to help her through. There's no way she would consider falling for anyone related to a murderer. Iris believed her brother deserved a life behind bars, even if her family considers her a traitor. But then he was killed by a fellow inmate only months later, and Iris has struggled to forgive herself. Shelby and Iris know the best thing to do is stay away from each other, but neither of them is prepared for the instant attraction they feel. Meadowlark was Afraid of the Dark!
Meadowlark was Afraid of the Dark is the first in a series of books about animals with uncharacteristic attributes. In Meadowlark...we meet a great white shark named Meadowlark that, despite his size, is afraid of the dark. He quivers upon nightfall and is terrified of storms. As he sinks deeper and deeper into the ocean, he meets an angler fish (Bojangles), with a beautiful glowing light, who helps him realize that it is perfectly acceptable to have his own fears. Together, Meadow and Bo, explore the ocean in the dark and Meadow realizes with the help of his new friend that he can be brave, despite his fears. This picture book also includes an easy glossary for both oceanic and nonsense words.

Without my past, I would never be who I am today. God has taken all the pain and turned it around for my good and heaven's gain. Once you walk through the door of healing, it's your responsibility to embrace your healing. We can get deliverance and still not be free. We can be delivered from abuse, but never truly free because we are still looking through eyes and mindset of the abused victim. Once healed, don't look back at what you were or what happened to you. You are a new person in Christ. Move pass your past. Just like an animal who was raised in a cage and never let out, let someone open the door. It will never go out because it doesn't realize it's free. We can get delivered and never walk through the open door or shake off the chains that have us bound. What the devil meant for your harm, God can turn it around for your good and his glory, only if you are willing to allow him into your brokenness. Until you let your past die, it will not let your future live. You have to forgive even yourself. Great people of faith, they follow Jesus away from the pain of the past. Take the path God has chosen for you, not the path man told you to go down.

God Gave Me You was written to show God works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. Jean was raised in church, and Kenneth was not. God got a hold in Kenneth's life and changed him entirely. They were two individuals raised in entirely different environments, and God used them for his service. They met in church, married in church, called to preach in church, and raised their family in church. God did miraculous wonders in their lives: Healed their marriage several times, Healed their daughter of rheumatic fever. In their ministry, several received Christ as their Savior, And in the end, God called Kenneth home to be with him. What a great God we serve.

Peter Krass is taking us, his readers, on quite a trip (and given the Sixties reference, the word's two-at least-meanings pertain) in these poems. Time is sandwiched, hijacked and serenaded ("To travel like this is to fly, / free and high, like a kettle of kites,") between youth and older age. The poet, side-kicking along with Bruce Springsteen and his desire "to change the world / with nothing more than air", encounters his muse, dead friends and even Billy Collins along the way. Funny, moving, thought-provoking, it's quite a trip indeed, on which we're all beginners, hitchhiking our way across time.-Philip Schultz, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and founder/director of The Writers StudioFrom the vantage point of his sixties, PJ Krass returns, in these wonderfully allusive poems, to his childhood in the 60s, that time of incense and headshops and Beatles and Stones in which both his selves, "the holy one / and the sinner," were shaped by a pop culture that zigzagged toward a "seemingly solid adult world." Then and now "a nation torn in two," this America of "disappointed dirt" still offers its muted pleasures: "Even the fortune teller's booth, / boarded up and empty, / keeps a secret of the past." That secret is almost revealed in elegiac poems tempered with humor and scored, always, with "a music strange but welcoming."-Michael Waters, author of Caw and other books of poetry; co-editor of Border Lines: Poems of Migration and other anthologies; Guggenheim Fellow; and five-time Pushcart Prize recipient

Across the decades, PJ Karr realized that her nonfiction stories and photography created laugh-aerobic workouts and an illustrious time to chill. Shared laughter and the bliss were amazing freebies. They resonated as a wanton and valued reprieve. Her classes and storytelling venues reaffirmed that we adults craved the playtime, humorous antics, and fantastic bellyaches as much as young children. Our mindfulness and laughter missions to defuse a concoction of stressors began to remain at the forefront of our stellar days, weeks, and months. Our rejuvenating spirit and healthier physical bodies were purged of the bothersome cortisol. Feel-good dopamine boosts became our natural endorphin highs. Our bona fide foreshadowing of blissful vibrations and superior karma became a welcome intermission. Our non-toxic and restorative smiles, vigorous chuckles, and sublime pleasures finally arrived. Blissful Vibes Our Euphoric Moments of Laughter reveal the purposeful choice to pursue a treasure trove of laughs and valued playtime throughout our life span.

In a rare melange of alluring stories and intriguing photography, Karr invites readers into an imaginative world. The characters and scenarios resonate with their mystical peaks and camouflaged valleys. Lakota knew to call Dyami, his best friend. The past was past. Was it within reach to quell and overcome the power of mind chatter? Would Lakota foster enough stillness to honor Elsu? Tarone sipped a Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and savored a mango smoothie mixed with ripe plantains. He began to talk aloud, as though his heavenly Mumz and Daddi were visiting at his breakfast table. Zora reread a doctor's article. The penetrating insights about the "doctor within each of us" resonated. She made a conscious choice to realign her bucket list. "Absolutely You cannot make up this stuff," repeated Dimitri, trying to imitate Petra's voice. "Hey, cool Well, enough talk about the drama in my life. What have you been doing lately? Being playfully deviant? "Of course Hey, last week I was..." Enough of Us portrays this medley of short tales. They awaken and revitalize a humanitarian spirit in a fast-paced world that often obscures the irreplaceable moments along our life pilgrimage.
