Elämät kuin vakoojaelokuvaa. Yrjö ja Veikko Palko pyhittivät elämänsä vakoojien jahtaamiseen. Venäläistaustainen kaksikko paljasti lukemattoman määrän itänaapurin vakoilijoita. Veikko Palkoa sanotaan yhdeksi Suomen kaikkien aikojen merkittävimmäksi vastavakoilijaksi. Isän ja pojan uskomaton tarina julkaistaan ensimmäistä kertaa tietokirjana. Isä Yrjö Palko pakeni Venäjän vallankumousta Suomeen ja pääsi armeijan leipiin. Hän kasvoi Suomen radiotiedustelun isän Reino Hallamaan suojeluksessa mestaritiedustelijaksi ja salakirjoituksen avaajaksi. Vakoilun virkamies auttoi valvontakomission jahtaamia satoja luottomiehiään pakenemaan maasta. Seurauksena oli joutuminen punaisen Valpon kuulusteluihin ja tuomio työleirille. Yrjö Palkon suurin saavutus oli Viestikoeaseman perustaminen puolustusvoimiin. Hän menehtyi työnsä ääreen äänettömänä sankarina. Saman kohtalon koki poika Veikko. Jälkipolville Veikko Palkon mittavat salatut saavutukset Supon vastavakoilussa jäivät kertomatta. Hän paljasti kymmenittäin venäläisiä vakoilijoita. Veikon perillisille jäivät ikimuistot isänsä uhrauksista ja lisäksi Veikon 61 miljoonan euron Eurojack-potti. VTM Seppo Konttinen on toimittaja ja kirjailija. Hän työskenteli Ylen taloustoimittajana, asuu Inarissa, harrastaa kirjallisuutta ja kalastusta. VTM Kari Vitie on ollut Ylen toimittajana ja sotilasasiamiehen avustajana Belgradissa ja Bernissä. Ura jatkui Evan johtajana, lähetysneuvoksena Berliinissä ja Patrian asekauppiaana Balkanilla.

Ristiin naulitun perintömaa - Patrimonium Crucifixi -teoksessa käydään läpi Suomen kirkon maaomaisuuden asteittaisen rakentumisen siitä alkaen, kun paavi Aleksanteri III vuonna 1197 luovutti vanhat ”Paholaisen kartanot” (olim mansio diabolica) kirkolle, joka pyhitti ne. Kirkon maasta tuli luovuttamatonta iäti, ja se saattoi vain kasvaa.Tarina kulkee paavillisen keskiajan, monarkkien johtaman refor- moidun kirkon, kirkkolaeilla ohjeistetun Ruotsin suurvaltakauden, tsaarillisen uudenajan ja lopulta sotien jälkeisten kirkon käänteiden kautta tähän päivään. Kirkon maan suojana on ollut koskemattomuus ja kunnioitus pyhää kohtaan ja vuodesta 1723 perustuslaillinen asema. Käytännössä suojan on antanut keskiajalta alkaen laki.Nikolai I nousu Venäjän tsaariksi ja sortovuodet rapauttivat lain suojaa, ja poliittinen ohjaus syrjäytti uskonnolliset perustelut. Ensimmäinen yhteenotto tuli, kun Maanhankintalaki 1945 oikeutti maan pakkolunastukset vastoin edellisenä vuonna säädettyä kirkkolakia. Kirkon maan koskemattomuus poistettiin 14.4.2023 vahvistetusta kirkkolaista, ja se muuttui asiallisesti normaaliksi kiinteistöomaisuudeksi siviililainsäädännön piiriin. Kirjoittaja Simo Seppo (s. 1933) on Itä-Suomen yliopiston jakamattoman kasvatustieteen professori (emer.), TL, KT, Helsingin ja Greifswaldin yliopistojen dosentti. Koulutusta vastaava työura kulki helsinkiläisen seurakunnan poikatyön johtamisesta oppikoulun vanhemman lehtorin ja normaalilyseon yliopettajan viroista yliopiston virkahierarkian läpi.
