Aaron's Story In Verse is a compilation of verses written in 1998 and are based on a turning point in our family life, which evolved between September 1997 and July 1998. During this period, our seven-year-old son, Aaron, was taken seriously ill with a rare form of the cancer known as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Although he fought long and hard to beat this dreaded disease, he finally succumbed to the illness and passed away on July 13th 1998. His death has given me the inspiration to write his story, expressing my feelings and the events of the last year in these verses. They cover all emotions from happiness to sadness, laughter and tears, reflecting the roller coaster ride we have experienced. Reading this story will make parents feel understood and empowered, no matter what they are going through. We also hope it will inspire other people who are in a similar environment to give them the strength to cope and relate to what we have gone through. Our normal family life being turned upside down for nine months. Aaron was to spend most of the time in the Birmingham Children's Hospital with his mother. Norma had to give up work, to be beside him, to give him support whenever it was needed. I had to juggle work, hospital trips, and household responsibilities.. As you can appreciate, this was a troublesome time in our life. It was to be a test of our mental strength, a test of survival, which, sadly for our only son, it wasn't meant to be. These verses are how I remembered this sad journey in our lives.About The Author I am Aaron's dad. As far back as my school days, writing has always seemed to be one of my strengths. I started writing verses in my teens, mainly for girlfriends on birthdays. I continued to write verses throughout my life, when inspired by events that have occurred. These included things like the birth of my children, deaths of close relatives and marriages where I have been a best man or a spokesperson. Having gained a reputation for writing verses, my family looks forward to me writing verses when a special or moving event occurs. Regarding writing this book, the inspiration came from the most devastating event in our family, which was the death of our eight-year old son Aaron. Yet from the depths of sorrow this book has emerged, it started with me writing the eulogy for his funeral. The favourable comments from the mourners encouraged me to continue writing and made me decide to treat Aaron's death in a positive way. This gave me a new purpose in life, to overcome this tragedy and assisted me in coping with the grieving process.

"Told in clear and beautiful prose, Aaron's Leap is a deeply moving portrait of love, sacrifice, and the transformative power of art in a time of brutal uncertainty." --SIMON VAN BOOY, author of The Illusion of Separateness Based on the real-life story of Bauhaus artist Friedl Dicker-Brandeis, Aaron's Leap is framed by the lens of a twenty first-century Israeli film crew delving into the extraordinary life of a woman who taught art to children in the Nazi transport camp of Terez n and died in Auschwitz. Aided by the granddaughter of one of the artist's pupils, the filmmakers begin to uncover buried secrets from a time when personal and artistic decisions became matters of life-and-death. Spanning a century of Central European history, the novel evokes the founding impulses, theories, and personalities of the European Modernist movement (with characters modeled after Oskar Kokoschka, Alma Mahler and Franz Werfel) and shows what it takes to grapple with a troubled history, "leap" into the unknown, and dare to be oneself. Magdal na Platzov was raised in Prague and has lived in Washington, DC and New York City, where she taught literature at NYU, and now lives in Lyon, France. She is the author of a children's book, two collections of short stories, and three novels, including Aaron's Leap, a Lidov Noviny Book of the Year Award finalist, hailed by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as a novel that "must be counted among the best written by contemporary Czech writers." It is her first book to be published in English.

The project infrastructure includes the largest single loop geothermal system in the world. Shortly before his passing, Aaron Green was awarded the 1st gold medal by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in recognition of his career and accomplishments and dedication to organic architecture. When asked who Aaron Green was, Wright commented, "Aaron Green is my son."
Aaron Garber-Maikovska: Cushion of Air
A survey of recent paintings, characterized by gestural bravado and vigorous colorways, from the kinetically minded abstract artist Los Angeles–based multimedia artist Aaron Garber-Maikovska (born 1978) works across painting, drawing, performance and video—interconnected modes of communicating a vernacular of somatic expression. Maikovska is best known for his bold abstract paintings of geometric forms and his drawings of galvanic linework. Using the artist’s own body as a catalyst for investigation, the works, produced between 2017 and 2023, are corporeal articulations yielded from a mantralike exercise in muscle memory, an attempt to carve out a space for creative freedom amid the social engineering and spatial division of the postmodern world. This first monograph of the artist’s work includes an essay by Cathleen Chaffee on performance and the body, an essay by Jan Tumlir exploring the depth and delight in his paintings, an in-depth interview between the artist and Orit Gat, in an immersive exploration of his multifaceted practice.
Aaron Rothman - Signal Noise
The culmination of a decade of work in the American West, Signal Noise presents an open-ended meditation on our desire to connect with the natural world, and the limits of our abilities to do so. Photographs altered with unconventional digital processing ask us to reflect on the nature of individual perceptual experience and the impact of our collective presence in the landscape. The images in Signal Noise are rooted in Rothman’s response to places familiar and meaningful to him, but his interest lies in the transformative rather than the documentary nature of photography. Landscapes overtaken by digital noise, layering, erasure, amplification and interference examine the blurry boundaries between natural and artificial. Interspersed views of desert mountain vistas and dense forests anchor the work in the space of the physical world while also casting doubt about what is real.

Whether or not you believe in psychic mediumship and the messages they receive from spirits or other entities, the perspectives on certain aspects of life outlined in the book Aaron Hedges: A Case Study in The Rapture might give you a new viewpoint on the Rapture. The spirit of a killed hunter and the entity that took his life connected with the author. Over the course of a year, explanations and insight as to what happened between these two, along with some life lessons, were provided in the form of written messages. A big take away within their messages is that the Rapture may not be exactly the "mystical union with God for eternal life in Heaven" that we read in the Bible. The Rapture is understood as the end of times, which feels as if it is just around the corner in our post-pandemic era. Increasingly, people are working against one another, building distrust, losing respect. We have a direct responsibility for our own outcome for the most part. There is some outside influence that we may not be aware of as is clear with the type of entity that took Aaron's life. Regardless, we are our own savior. No one else is. And we must learn to understand that we don't "deserve" anything in life. The concept of entitlement to anything needs to be removed from our view on life, regardless of anyone's status. This must be learned and understood on a mass scale if we want to turn the tides of what is happening to all of us - chaos and disruption - to a peaceful way of living.
