Colin Rowe is acknowledged to be the most influential figure in architectural theory in the last half of the 20th century. Although his contribution to the discipline and practice of urban design is equally important, there is no single text which specifically focuses on his work in this sphere. This book intends to address this omission by critically examining Rowe's urban design theory and its evolution, which began at the Cornell University Urban Design program in 1963 and continued until his death in 1999. The text features a score of previously unpublished essays by prominent scholars, educators and practitioners, many of whom were his students or close collaborators. The Urban Design Legacy of Colin Rowe provides a window to explore past, present and future themes central to the discipline of urban design as seen through the critical lens of Colin Rowe and those who continue to define their creative work in relationship to that extraordinary intellect.

The front wall of the Painters Guild lay in ruins. Burnt and twisted, one gate hung by a single hinge. The other was completely missing. 'I think there is little doubt..., ' Cyrus said somberly, '... but I fear it has to be the Book of Red. It has appeared periodically throughout history. It is a thing of tremendous evil.' The Signeurs of the Stargazers Guild are going to betray Pulgam to the Dark River. Mosofet, Lord of the Seven Worlds, is seeking vengeance, his dark army right behind him. Now someone, or something, has let loose the Book of Red. The Lord of the Keep has returned to Pulgam, but where is the King? William's world is in peril. Who will sit on the throne in this time of great danger? Colin wasn't volunteering. The Sword of Destiny was refusing to talk to him anymore. Being a hero suddenly didn't seem so appealing. Already gifted with magical sight, Victoria was still discovering her talents - and they seemed to be growing every day. Sebastian, on the other hand, was enjoying life as a normal, regular boy - while Mio was still waiting impatiently to grow up. And as for William? He just knew that it wasn't fair. Why was he the only one who didn't have any magical talent

They were all gone: the Locksmith, the Signeurs, the Book of Red - all defeated; but darkness still encircles the Worlds. Tamasa - the Dark River - his time is coming. The twelve-headed post knew how to beat him, Colin was sure of it; they knew his weakness. If only he could find it - somewhere out there in the Worlds. Of course, there were other problems. William was now clearly a wizard and wizards were mainly known for being evil. Can he control the great power that he now possesses, or will it take control of him? Victoria had a different problem. She had seen inside Gennaro's book - the Book of the Dead. She knew whose name was written there, but could she do anything about it? The day of the final battle is fast approaching. Pulgam is prepared, but they cannot fight alone. They must reach out to ancient allies - the Ancelet and the great city of Duqnes. However, treachery lurks everywhere. Will darkness fall over the Worlds; will the Dark River triumph again?

Football's Fearless Activists: How Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid, Kenny Stills, and Fellow Athletes Stood Up to the NFL and President Trump
For the first time, here is the full story of the NFL player protests that rocked a nation and turned our country upside down. This is the players' side, one that has largely been ignored by the media. On September 1, 2016, Colin Kaepernick took a knee before a preseason game. Little did he, nor anyone else, know the ramifications from that decision. Since being exiled from the National Football League, Kaepernick has stood strong against all those who have attacked him. He and others who took a knee against racial inequality and police brutality have been ridiculed, mocked, threatened, and some have even lost their jobs. They have feared for their safety and that of their loved ones. But what made Kaepernick kneel, and the entire country turn a silent protest into a national pandemic? One person: President Donald Trump. For the first time, veteran journalist Mike Freeman sits down with those directly involved in the protests--the players--to find out how things really went down. Readers will learn why they decided to protest, how racism and the murdering of innocent men of color directly affected them, how the politics of protest affected their professional and personal lives, and if anything has even changed for the better. Including interviews with Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid, Kenny Stills, Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman, and numerous others, see first-hand how the media, President Trump, and the National Football League took a peaceful message for change and turned it on its head. They changed the narrative, accusing these men of being "anti-America," "anti-military," and "disrespecting the flag." In Football's Fearless Activists, Freeman offers an opportunity to understand what these protests meant to the players, and how the hatred from the media, President, NFL owners, and some Americans was not only unwarranted, but anti-American.
