How can Stir-Frying help you lose weight ? The word "fry" may have earned a negative reputation in the health and fitness department, but that is only because it is associated with the use of a lot of oil. Stir-frying, on the other hand, is an entirely different story. But first, let us define what it is. Stir-frying is a technique, which is common in Asia and is used to cook vegetables, soy-based products such as tofu, and meat that are cut into really small pieces quickly. It only requires the use of a little oil, if none at all, but if you want to cook stir-fried dishes, you do need to use a lot of common Asian spices and seasonings such as ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and Chinese rice wine or vinegar. The wok, which is a bowl-shaped pan, and the spatula are the most quintessential stir-frying tools used, but you can also use a deep skillet. Other highly important kitchen tools you will need are a sharp knife, a colander, and, occasionally, a pot where you'll cool noodles and rice. Here Is A Preview Of What You'll Find Inside... 8 Popular Asian Style Stir-Fried Vegetable Recipes 8 Different Varieties Of Stiry-Fried Rice and Noodles Recipes 6 Singapore Style Seafood Recipes 6 Stir-Fried Poultry And Meat Recipes And Much, much more

On 20 December 2017 and 10 April 2018 respectively, the Court of Justice of the European Union passed two landmark cases on the legal status of internet platform Uber. The Court established that Uber does not merely provide an app, but rather offers a full transport service. Without Uber there would be no market for non-professional drivers using their own vehicles. Moreover, the platform exercises a decisive influence over the conditions under which drivers provide their service. These rulings address the very core of several highly debated questions on the legal status of online intermediaries such as Uber, Airbnb and TaskRabbit. Is regulatory intervention needed to reap the potential benefits of the platform economy or to mitigate the potentially negative consequences of regulatory disruption? Can platforms be held liable for the proper execution of services provided by others? Does existing national regulation impose disproportionate market restrictions on innovators? Should we rethink labour protection aand social security to address the potential loss of social protection of non-standard workers? How can revenue law be improved to tackle elaborate (international) schemes to avoid direct and indirect taxation? Emerging platforms claim to create new market opportunities and to provide innovative solutions to improve social welfare. Conversely, the platform economy blurs established lines between traditional legal categories, such as business and consumer, personal and professional, and worker and contractor. Traditional regulation, which often focuses on balancing the interests of two contracting parties, is now confronted with the three-sided contractual relationship between a platform, a supplier and a user. In this book, a panel of international legal experts unravel the legal status of online intermediaries a thorny knot that legislators, judges and lawyers across the globe are facing.

This monograph is devoted to the study of multiscale model reduction methods from the point of view of multiscale finite element methods. Multiscale numerical methods have become popular tools for modeling processes with multiple scales. These methods allow reducing the degrees of freedom based on local offline computations. Moreover, these methods allow deriving rigorous macroscopic equations for multiscale problems without scale separation and high contrast. Multiscale methods are also used to design efficient solvers. This book offers a combination of analytical and numerical methods designed for solving multiscale problems. The book mostly focuses on methods that are based on multiscale finite element methods. Both applications and theoretical developments in this field are presented. The book is suitable for graduate students and researchers, who are interested in this topic.

Downscaling of semiconductor devices, which is now reaching the nanometer scale, makes it mandatory for us to understand the quantum phenomena - volvedinchargetransport.Indeed, fornanoscaledevices, thequantumnature of electrons cannot be neglected. In fact, it underlies the operation of an increasing number of devices. Unlike classical transport, the intuition of the physicistandtheengineerisbecominginsu?cientforpredictingthenatureof device operation in the quantum context-the need for su?ciently accurate and numerically tractable models represents an outstanding challenge in which applied mathematics can play an important role. TheCIMESession"QuantumTransport:Modelling,AnalysisandAsy- totics", which took place in Cetraro (Cosenza), Italy, from September 11 to September 16, 2006, was intended both to present an overview of up-to-date mathematical problems in this ?eld and to provide the audience with te- niques borrowed from other ?elds of application. It was attended by about 50 scientists and researchers, coming from d- ferent countries. The list of participants is included at the end of this book. The school was structured into four courses: ' * Gr' egoire Allaire (Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France) Periodic - mogeneization and E?ective MassTheorems for theSchr. odinger Equation. * AntonArnold(TechnischeUniversit. at,Vienna)MathematicalProperties of Quantum Evolution Equations. * Pierre Degond (Universit' e Paul Sabatier and CNRS, Toulouse, France) Quantum Hydrodynamic and Di?usion Models Derived from the Entropy Principle. * Thomas Yizhao Hou (Caltech, Los Angeles, USA) Multiscale Com- tations for Flow and Transport in Heterogeneous Media. This book contains the texts of the four series of lectures presented at the Summer School. Here follows a brief description of the subjects of these courses.

Assesses the homeland security implications of publicly available geospatial data and information. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, many agencies within the federal government began restricting some of their publicly available geospatial data and information from such sources as the World Wide Web. As time passes, however, decisionmakers have begun to ask whether and how such information specifically helps potential attackers, including terrorists, to select U.S. homeland sites and prepare for better attacks. The research detailed in this book aims to assist decisionmakers tasked with the responsibility of choosing which geospatial information to make available and which to restrict.
