The main objective of this book was to determine the correlation and path analysis of yield and yield contributing characters in bread wheat and to assess their suitability in a breeding plan. In agriculture, Path analysis has been used by plant breeders to assist in identifying traits that are useful as selection criteria to improve crop yield. Total correlation between yield and component traits may be sometimes misleading as it might be an over-estimate and under-estimate because of its association with other character. In this research, total correlation are splitted into direct and indirect effects of cause would give more meaningful interpretation to the cause of association between the dependent variable like yield and independent variable like yield component. This kind of information will be helpful in formulating the selection criteria, indicating the selection for desirable characters is likely to bring about on overall improvement in single plant yield directly.

Parkinson gear tester is used to test the error in the gear. Here the carriage has two spindle. One main gear is fixed in one spindle and another testing gear is fixed in the second spindle. They can slide both side and these gears are mounted in mesh by spring pressure. When the gear are rotated, the moment of sliding carriage can be measured by the dial indicator. This values are recorded in the recorder. The spindles can be adjusted so that axial distance is equal and scale is attached to one side and vernier to the other side for measure the centre distance. If errors occur in the tooth form moment of carriage due to the error in the pitch and tooth thickness. This moment is indicated in the dial gauge. The maximum gear diameter 150 mm can be tested.

Knowledge of cutting forces is essential in metal cutting applications as they are used in the design of machine tools, cutting tools and fixtures. Therefore considerable amount of investigation is directed towards the prediction and measurement of cutting forces. The cutting forces generated during metal cutting have a direct influence on the generation of heat and thus tool wear, quality of machined surface and accuracy of the work piece. Due to the complex tool geometry and cutting conditions of metal cutting and some unknown factors and stresses, theoretical cutting force calculations is inadequate to produce the accurate results and hence the experimental measurement of cutting forces becomes unavoidable. The milling dynamometer is developed to measure the three cutting forces and torque.
