"What is it, Minister Andre?" Andre tried to figure out how to tell him without sounding ridiculous. "Pastor, I have fallen in love with the young lady I was telling you about." Pastor Seavers was surprised, "You mean the lounge singer?" Andre waited a bit and then said, "She is not a lounge singer, pastor. She sings with her family on stage all over the world. She also sings gospel at times." Paul just stared out the window. His eyes were red, and his hands were shaking like a leaf. Will looked at his long-time friend, shook his head, and said, "Man Paul, you know she can press charges? How could you attack her like that?" Paul closed his eyes, and rubbed his eyebrows, "She just kept talking, Will. Plain silly I lost it. Man, for a minute there, I wanted to choke the living daylights out of her. This guy does not have a pot or a window " "What?" Will asked. Paul looked at him. "He has nothing And here she is just repeating that he is the only man for her. What got into her, Will? What in the world happened to her? She is the smartest child I have. She just lost her mind, man." Will shook his head. "Love got into her Paul. It is love."

A 50th anniversary revised edition of the beloved classic, God is Red. First published in 1972, Vine Deloria Jr.'s God Is Red 50th Anniversary Edition remains the seminal work on Native religious views, asking new questions about our species and our ultimate fate. Celebrating three decades in publication with a special 30th-anniversary edition, this classic work reminds us to learn "that we are a part of nature, not a transcendent species with no responsibilities to the natural world." It is time again to listen to Vine Deloria Jr.'s powerful voice, telling us about religious life that is independent of Christianity and that reveres the interconnectedness of all living things.

While visiting the United States, C. G. Jung visited the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, where he spent several hours with Ochwiay Biano, Mountain Lake, an elder at the Pueblo. This encounter impacted Jung psychologically, emotionally, and intellectually, and had a sustained influence on his theories and understanding of the psyche. Dakota Sioux intellectual and political leader, Vine Deloria Jr., began a close study of the writings of C. G. Jung over two decades ago, but had long been struck by certain affinities and disjunctures between Jungian and Sioux Indian thought. He also noticed that many Jungians were often drawn to Native American traditions. This book, the result of Deloria's investigation of these affinities, is written as a measured comparison between the psychology of C. G. Jung and the philosophical and cultural traditions of the Sioux people. Deloria constructs a fascinating dialogue between the two systems that touches on cosmology, the family, relations with animals, visions, voices, and individuation.

In The Indian Affair Deloria traces the history of broken treaties with the Indians, describing how they were swindled out of their rights and pulling no punches in naming indiviuals, agencies, and corporations that have participated. Christian communities aren't exempted from critique either. Deloria highlights the hard feelings that remain due to Christian complicity with Indian mistreatment and urges churches to do the "thousand little things" needed to heal the wounds left by the "Trail of Broken Promises".

There is no greater honor than to be loved and befriended by God. He desires to become friends with each of us, he longs for us to receive his love and to understand his goodwill for every person. Friendship with God gives us access to God's plans. In order to receive access, God must trust us and that trust begins in our hearts. If we love God with all that we are, we are willing to sacrifice so that others can experience God's love. We commune with him and spend time with him, so that we may hear his instructions. We not only obey his commands, but we enjoy operating in the will of God. Finally, we see others as God sees them. We recognize when others are in need. We forgive those who make mistakes just as God forgave us. We sacrifice our comfort so that others may experience comfort. We love others in the same way we want to be loved. When we are walking with God, spending time with him, and doing his will, we are his friends and gain access to the work he is accomplishing on the earth. To receive the gift of salvation that leads to eternal life, we must only confess and believe in our hearts that Christ died for us. But to gain access to an abundant life, filled with wisdom, stature, and honor, we must place God first and be about His business.

We are blessed to have an environment with blue skies, green trees, the earth beneath our feet, and air we can breathe. We live in an environment that was created to sustain life and we must acknowledge none of us were born with the knowledge to create the world we live in. God, the creator of heaven and earth, loves us immensely and stands afar to see if anyone will seek him, acknowledge him, or even try to understand who he truly is. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to be God with us, and has left his Holy Spirit to be God within us. When I realized that we serve a living God, who hears us, listens, and loves each of us - uniquely and individually, it changed my life. God is knocking at the door of our hearts to see if we will let him in. He desires to be Your God, just as he is My God.
