The objectives of this work were to evaluate the contribution of directed instruction (DE) based on anatomical-clinical observations in pathology training. It was a descriptive study of three sessions of DE in pathology carried out in 2017, provided to 16 students of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis. We analyzed 27 pre-tests, 27 satisfaction questionnaires, and 17 learning evaluation sheets. All students scored above the eliminatory grade on the pretest . All students rated the content of the DE as relevant and interesting, the time allocated to the DE session, the interactivity and discussion as sufficient, the objectives of the DE met, and the support provided as appropriate. They suggested more DE sessions and the generalization of this type of teaching to pathology clerkships and other specialties. Scores on the learning assessment forms were A, the highest score. It appears that DE in pathology using anatomical/clinical observations is a learning method appreciated by students and useful in facilitating learning.

This book explores the legal implications of China’s state-directed economic model for the existing international economic order. It first reveals the close links between the market and the state in contemporary China by profiling an emerging triple role of the state in the economy. It then explores how the domestic legal system underpins the distinctive market-state relationship, before analysing whether essential norms of international economic law, which bracket the international economic order, are able to adapt to China’s innovative market-state relationship.The book argues that the international economic order is inherently limited since it tends to adhere to an orthodox dichotomy, with a clear boundary between the market and the state. It also suggests that China’s new state-market relationship has challenged the dichotomy – the state does not intend to eliminate the functioning of the market but, conversely, utilises a market mechanism and makes itself more integrated into the market. Lastly the book proposes a fresh perspective to comprehend the ‘market-state’ question, which does not to take for granted that all market-state relationships are mutually exclusive.

Stefan Heym (1913-2001) was an important catalyst for the collapse of the Berlin Wall, a writer-politician who from the very beginning of his long and often dangerous career saw himself as a fighter for a better society. As a propagandist and historian, Simons wrote the first thoroughgoing Marxist account of American history. As a journalist, he furnished Upton Sinclair with much of the material that he used in The Jungle, and as a party politician, Simons was a significant force in unifying the party, in establishing the International Workers of the World (IWW), and in trying to make socialism an acceptable alternative for the American voter. Although he broke with the party in 1917, Simons, as a teacher and a writer on industrial relations, continually struggled with the major problems that faced industrial society in the twentieth century.
