C. G. Thompson, born on January 18, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas, and Donna G. Thompson, born on March 18, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona, got married on November 14, 1971. Before their wedding, C. G. gave Donna a drawing of Sammy Skunk, which spurred her to write children's books-an endeavor she started in 1973. C. G. eventually started developing characters, which would later be the Farmer Family; however, the manuscript got lost, along with the rest of their possessions, when their mobile home caught fire in 1985. In late 1986/1987, they started the Donkey Dan Show on Prescott Valley's KLKY. The show ran for more than four years, until the radio station was sold. Though they were offered to stay, Vietnam Veteran Donna's disabilities got worse, making them decide to end the show and start on a new manuscript using the radio stories. On September 4, 2006, Donna passed on to be with her maker.

Only about 20 of these shows were on the air. Some of them were written and ready for future shows while others put on paper after broadcasting the Donkey Dan Show. When the station was sold, Donna and C. G. Thompson were asked to stay, but Donna's illness had worsened, so the show was ended. The first show was "How the Donkey Dan Show Started." It aired in 1987 followed by "The Old Oak Tree House." The stories featured are a wedding of fiction and nonfiction that will bring you into the world of The Donkey Dan Show which spanned four years on Sunday mornings. The Farmer Family Album is a mixed family of cartoon animals. In these stories, the family blends together natural science, fantasy, family, humor, and religion. Even though the characters are fictional, they are taken from our real family, friends, and pets.

I use my radio show characters, known as the Farmer Family to tell science facts about the wildlife in this book. Some of these stories were taken from the Donkey Dan Show. Others were rewritten from my notes of stories we never used on our show. Though most of the creatures are found in Arizona there are a few that were added that are not.Our show aired on Prescott Valleys, K.L.K.Y. radio station between 1986 and the 1990s when the station was sold. Donna and I decided to stay with the new owners. Instead we made the decision to create a new book after the original was destroyed in a fire. These stories were kept in the Donkey Dan Show archives. A few stories told on the show were on tape and were never located.

Most of these stories contain actual places and events from history. Some are actually taken from events in my own life. The bible scriptures mentioned are taken from more than one translation. I use at least three different versions when I study. Normally the King James, New international, the Greek interlinear and sometimes the Amplified bible.I have been asked these questions: Are angels real? Yes they are real Do they have wings? Only when for some reason they desire to Do angels have bodies? Angels being spirit beings only appear in a body when dealing with people. Our story is about a specific angel commissioned by God to walk upon the earth. Her assignment is to carry out God's will in the lives of humans. When she allows herself to be visible she appears as a twelve year old, redheaded girl. Most of the time her eyes are emerald green unless she is angry or dishing out God's vengeance. That's when they change to a hell fire red color. She appears in a lime green dress and walks about in summer or winter barefoot. When her emerald green eyes go hell fire red so does her dress turn red.Our story opens up with a flashback to her first assignment on the first Christmas. Then the story is fast forwarded past many of her assignments until the present time. I gave her the name Noel from the song the 'First Noel'. Her name also changes along with her eyes according to her mission on earth at the time. When she dishes out the Lords vengeance her name is Vengeance otherwise it is Noel.

Initially, the main character is depicted as a grumpy old man, but as the story develops the complexity of this character made me re-arrange my plans so I could keep reading to find out what other hidden traits Griff had. I really enjoyed how the relationships developed and how details were slowly revealed to surprise me, yet also enable me to build my hypothesis as to what was to come. Yet, as in all good murder mysteries, the final chapter came as a shock and the sweet ending left me wanting to jump straight into the next book. I felt captivated by Griff and Lisa and can't wait to see what happens next.Four Stars - Great story, read in one sittingI really enjoyed this book, was an interesting story, good characters and kept me hooked so read in one setting.

The settlements of Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven are close neighbours and yet their histories are very different.Dumbarton, a Royal Burgh since the thirteenth century and the county town of Dunbartonshire was, by the 1840s, in a poor state. Its famous Glassworks had been closed for some years and an emerging shipbuilding industry had yet to make a significant impact. In contrast, the bustling villages of the Vale were the home to a thriving cloth bleaching, printing and dyeing industry. Works were located along the River Leven, which provided the constant supply of fresh water essential to their success. To attract workers to this rural area, settlements had to be built on 'greenfield' sites to accommodate them.By the mid-1850s, shipbuilding was transforming Dumbarton, and that too required migrant labour. People arrived from all over Scotland and from Ireland, to work in the yards and foundries. Meantime, migrants continued to arrive in the Vale. This book is primarily about these incomers: Where had they come from?Where did they live? How did they make a living? What were living and working conditions like? How did their presence transform the settlements they lived in?How did this compare to what was happening elsewhere in Scotland?
