You can be free RICH: Recovery in Christ Heals is a biblical manual for those struggling with addiction(s) to set them free through the word of God and train them to show others how to be free. This manual does not compete with the clinical or secular programs, but my objective in writing this is to work alongside these programs toward reaching a common goal. What is addiction? Dictionary.com defines addiction as "the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma." This book has eight levels so that the person battling, will have a mindset of progression instead of regression. We believe in what John 8:36 says that who the Son (Jesus) sets free is free indeed. In these teachings, different Bible versions are referred for clearer understanding such as New International Version (NIV), King James Version (KJV), New King James Bible (NKJV), New American Standard Bible (NASB), Amplified Bible (AMP), and the Message Bible (MSG).
Having Ongoing Positive Expectation is the second devotional written jointly by these authors who, following a similar format as the one used in the writing of their first book, share 30 true accounts of biblical characters. Applying these lessons to their own lives, they are able to show the presence of God in every situation. When I read the devotional on confusion and particularly, the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, the author states "there is no amount of confusion I could ever encounter that has the power to overthrow His ability to see me". Wow Jesus feels the faith of all of those who dare to place their ongoing hope in Him. This book helps the reader establish a firm grip on hope, even in the midst of trials. We can maintain a positive expectation in the midst of anxiety and fear. We can press through and trust in Him even when we feel stripped of all the resources we think we need to fight the battle. The questions posed at the end of each chapter are thought-provoking and lead you to deep contemplation. The prayers direct you to a new level of surrender. Islamic schools, especially madrasahs, have been viewed as sites of indoctrination for Muslim students and militants. Some educators and parents in the United States have also regarded introductory courses on Islam in some public schools as indoctrinatory. But what do we mean by "indoctrination"? And is Islamic education indoctrinatory? This book critically discusses the concept of indoctrination in the context of Islamic education. It explains that indoctrination occurs when a person holds to a type of beliefs known as control beliefs that result in ideological totalism. Using Indonesia as an illustrative case study, the book expounds on the conditions for an indoctrinatory tradition to exist and thrive. Examples include the Islamic school co-founded by Abu Bakar Ba’asyir and the militant organisation Jemaah Islamiyah. The book further proposes ways to counter and avoid indoctrination through formal, non-formal, and informal education. It argues for the creation and promotion of educative traditions that are underpinned by religious pluralism, strong rationality, and strong autonomy.
