Stamp your passport for adventure, intrigue, and danger on your expedition to exotic locales with The Greatest Generation's cartoonist-in-chief The landmark Steve Canyon, Volume 12 brings Milton Caniff's picaresque novel through the end of the tumultuous 1960s and into a brand-new decade. Everyone's favorite bird colonel travels from Alaska to Latin America and romances women from dominating millionaire Copper Calhoon to... Poteet's old friend, Bitsy Beekman? Things are not always as they seem, but the course of love finally runs true on April 24, 1970. The Rembrandt of the Comic Strips also does a serious turn, once again tackling the issue of addiction, more than eighteen months before President Nixon declared a "War on Drugs." Meanwhile, Poteet Canyon covers the Powder Puff Derby as Bitsy enters the race, vying to become the champion woman pilot of 1969 On land or thousands of feet in the air, the action never stops in Steve Canyon, Volume 12 The Greatest Generation's cartoonist-in-chief, Milton Caniff, continues to appeal to two disparate groups--comics aficionados as well as active military and veterans. The Air Force created an official record for Steve Canyon, the only time a fictional character was so honored.

(Percussion). In this, the first drum book he has written, music legend Steve Gadd presents a series of rudimental passages inspired by his experience in drum corps and his love of the rudiments. Each of the etudes is based on a classic or contemporary rudiment, or on Steve's personal variations. He takes the phrases and then displaces them to begin on different subdivisions of the beat, thereby creating new, challenging patterns from the basic sticking. All of the solos are written in musical phrases that reinforce the player's understanding of the importance of phrasing as a key element of musicianship. The book has been painstakingly hand-engraved at Steve's request, to bring a comfortable and classic look to the pages. The layout of each page was also designed specifically by Gadd to create an easy yet musical flow to the reading. The book is also spiral-bound making sure it lays flat. These features are reflective of a man who has read thousands of charts in the studio on some of the most important recordings of our time. Accompanying the book is a full set of videos with Steve demonstrating each etude using the method he used to write the book: Playing with his rubber-tip practice sticks on a piece of wood. Even in this situation, Gadd's legendary groove and musicality shine through. Drum set, drum corps, and classical drummers will find an instant classic in these pages, with elements that will improve your technical ability, musical phrasing, groove, and your rhythmic vocabulary using the challenging technique of displacement that Steve bases the book upon. STEVE GADD is one of the all-time legends of drumming, having appeared on thousands of recordings in every major style in which the drumset is played, with artists who comprise a literal who's-who of contemporary recording artists, including Chick Corea, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Al DiMeola, Al Jarreau, Stanley Clarke, Chuck Mangione. He is also an established producer and bandleader of the Gadd Gang and the Steve Gadd Band.

(Guitar Recorded Versions). From Steve Vai: "This record was written and recorded in somewhat of a stream of consciousness in 1991 within perhaps a 2-week period as an answer to my desire to have a particular kind of music to listen to when I was riding my Harley Davison motorcycle with my friends. It's reminiscent of a certain type of rock music I enjoyed as a teenager in the 1970s. These recordings sat on the shelf for over 30 years and are being released now in 2023." Vai made this album was recorded with his friend, fellow motorcycle enthusiast, and vocalist Gash, who died shortly after its recording. Vai recently decided the world needed to hear this album and finally released it in 2023 because he wants the world to know Gash at long last. Our matching folio includes eight note-for-note transcriptions in notes and tab with lyrics. Songs: Busted * Danger Zone * Flowers of Fire * In the Wind * Let's Jam * New Generation * She Saved My Life Tonight * Woman Fever.

Steve Mayfield collects a lot of documentation and has a lot of interesting things on Mormons and crime. We're going to talk about the famous Patty Hearst kidnapping. It turns out that Mormons were involved in her arrest. So that's going to be fun to talk about. We'll also talk about other Mormons in crime such as FBI agents, both good and bad there, including a Mormon spy for Russia We're also going to talk about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and something that I wasn't really familiar with the Dead Lee Scroll. It's probably a forgery and so we'll talk more about that. Check it out

"The Wrong Stuff" is a rip-roaring psychedelic adventure extending the gonzo tradition of Terry Southern, Hunter Thomson, and Tom Wolfe. The dynamic cover of "The Wrong Stuff" shows a rebellious student flipping the bird to his good-natured music teacher, who continues smiling, like Pee-Wee Herman, His smile is broader than any of the students. Right from the start, in chapter one, the hazards are foretold, as long-haired, teenage boys cycle through special schools, mental hospitals, and prisons, goofing and laughing all the way. Our hero plays through them all, even the horrors of paranoia, spiked drugs, motorcycle gangs, big waves, and environmental disasters with a black cloud following him. It is the specter of war in Viet Nam. If the book just had a cover and chapter one, it would make a great movie. This book has twelve chapters and a play, any of which can stand alone; each packed with realistic characters, authentic dialogue, and moments in history. Each chapter is bursting with content, like a collection of condensed novels. t is like "Forrest Gump", whose story coordinates with major historical events, and like "Zelig", who keeps popping up where you wouldn't expect him, and in this new book, the author grabs us on page one and takes us on a hell of a trip. I laughed so hard that the other inmates all thought I was crazy.

Steve The Dung Beetle: On A Roll gives kids a first glimpse at ecosystems and conservation. We hear a lot in the media today about ecology, environment, and wildlife. However, with all the concern and drama over conservation and collapsing ecosystems few people actually know what it means and nobody has a viable or practical suggestion on how to fix it. While Steve can't fix everything he works really hard to manage what he can. His small steps help make the biggest difference to all the animals on the savannah. In the back of the book zookeepers write about dung beetles and some of Steve's other animal friends so learning can continue at a level the entire family will enjoy. Steve is a fun and engaging story with captivating artwork, promotes active involvement on each page, and instills critical thinking and an appreciation for nature and wildlife.
After traveling the country in search of alternatives to the economy of mindless consumerism, challenging himself to live for a year without money, and exploring the history of humanity's economic development in his seminal book, "Money, Sex, Power & Faith: Questioning The Building Blocks Of Civilization", Steve McAllister has long been searching for a better way. He believes it can be found through what he calls ABC Squared Economics. The theory is built on the premise that just as nature is comprised of the four elements of water, air, earth, and fire, so are humans comprised of heart, mind, body, and spirit. We were to more consciously cultivate greater emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health, could we not also use our burgeoning technology to better guide the economic energy we create toward greater Artistry, Business, Citizenry, and Community?Blending analysis, exposition, poetry, and pragmatism, "Steve McAlphabet Explains ABC Squared Economics" takes readers on a journey of discovery in the hopes of seeing that, beyond the world we've become accustomed to, another world is out there.

A brief yet lively introduction to antiapartheid activist Steve Biko, this biography argues that Biko was the most important political figure to have emerged in South Africa between Nelson Mandela's arrest in the early 1960s and his release in 1990. Written by some of the leading experts in their fields, this informative and accessible volume demonstrates just how fundamental Biko was to the transformation of South Africa in the second half of the 20th century—and how relevant he remains today. The book covers his life and thought, his influence and his legacy, as well as the impact Biko had on the Black Power movement.
The making of a New Zealand coaching great Between the years 2012 and 2019, Sir Steve Hansen oversaw an era of such remarkable success that it would be almost impossible to repeat. His 15-year career in the All Blacks coaching team is the heaviest footprint in rugby history. Of the 210 tests he was involved with, his team lost just 25 times. Of the 107 tests he served as head coach, Sir Steve accumulated a record 4 World Rugby Coach of the Year awards and orchestrated 93 victories - a winning percentage of 87 per cent, the highest of any All Blacks coach.Steve Hansen: The Legacy delves into the highs and the lows that earned the New Zealand rugby knight a place in the pantheon of world rugby coaching greats. Revealing and perceptive, the book uncovers how Hansen dealt with the immeasurable pressure of leading the world's most famous rugby team; the tension created by being re-appointed specifically to win the Rugby World Cup; how he dealt with high-profile athletes and an exodus of New Zealand's all-time greats; the endless tug-of-war between commercialism and high performance; the increasing influence of referees on the game; the power battle between the northern and southern hemispheres; the Achilles heel that contributed to the All Blacks' 2019 Rugby World Cup loss; and how, during his career, he learnt to understand his weaknesses and use them to his advantage.Much more than a biography, in Steve Hansen: The Legacy, award-winning writer Gregor Paul tells the compelling story of the former policeman from Mosgiel, his quest for world rugby dominance and his journey to coaching greatness.
