Wicked days. Sinful nights. Meet Mr. April. A high school drop-out with only his twisted sense of humor and panty-melting good looks going for him, Nolan Wood has turned a small radio gig into a thriving career. Now a local celebrity, Nolan never wants for female companionship. But he never gets too close. And he damn sure never lets them see the man-or the pain-behind the jokes. Then a one-night stand changes everything. Career-focused, goal-oriented, and buttoned-down accountant Shelby Drake isn't the kind of woman who'd usually catch Nolan's attention, but her soft mouth, hidden curves, and deep sensuality blow his mind. And after only one taste, he wants more. But Shelby wants nothing more to do with him. And now the radio playboy is on a sensual mission to convince her that opposites really do attract. Her pleasure is his passion.

This textbook provides a starter’s guide to VHDL. This book can be used in conjunction with a one-semester course in Digital Systems Design or on its own for designers who only need an introduction to the language. This book is designed to provide a bottoms-up approach to learning the VHDL language. This design supports a course in which foundational knowledge is covered before moving into advanced topics. However, this design also supports use as a reference manual. The author has designed the presentation with learning goals and assessment at its core. Each section addresses a specific learning outcome that the student should be able to “do” after its completion. The concept checks and exercise problems provide a rich set of assessment tools to measure student performance on each outcome.

This 1977 book reports on an experimental program that was designed to discover whether a summer of intensive academic work and recreation on a college campus could significantly improve the educational performance of economically disadvantaged thirteen-year-old children. For three successive summers, sixty-five experimental participants and sixty-five control participants were selected randomly from schools in two large cities and three small cities. Experimental and control pairs were carefully matched. The results of this program were assessed in terms of six indicators: persistence in school, junior high school grades, senior high school grades, achievement test scores, assignment to a special school track, and attendance at academic or other special schools. On all six measures the performance of experimental pupils was judged superior to that of their matched control partners. The results of Middle Start indicate that even in the middle years of schooling, inner-city children can be helped significantly by skilful educational intervention.
Spain and the Early Stuarts, 1585–1655
These studies focus on Spain's relations with England from the last stages of the Elizabethan war to the opening years of the Cromwellian regime. Particular attention is given to the issue of religion and to the character and conduct of peacetime diplomacy - and intelligence gathering. In the first studies, Professor Loomie deals with the policies of Philip II and preparations for the 1597 Armada. The following articles examine Spanish attitudes towards the Stuart court and an unknown cultivation of the ’Independents’ during and after the Civil War.
