Yksinäinen puu ei kauan pala. Se tarvitsee vierelleen toisen puun, josta se saa voimaa. Nuotioteologiaa on kokoelma tarinoita, puheenvuoroja, oivalluksia yhteen tulemisen voimasta. Kirjoittajat toimivat erilaisissa tehtävissä Oulun hiippakunnan alueella: Satu Kreivi-Palosaari, Meri Tirroniemi, Outi Uusimäki, Kari Tiirola, Soili Pitkänen, Teemu Kakkuri, Satu Saarinen, Juha Rauhala, Kaija Tiirola, Taina Manninen, Pekka Rehumäki, Harriet Urponen, Päivi Liiti, Kari Ruotsalainen, Matti Laurila

Ulkomailla ”hiihtovalmentajaksi” haukuttu ja pilapiirroksiin päätynyt Kuusela johdatti vuonna 1993 Kispest Honvédin Unkarin mestariksi, mikä on edelleen merkittävin suomalaisen jalkapallovalmentajan saavutus ulkomailla.Kuinka Martti Kuuselasta tuli kansainvälisesti kokenein suomalainen jalkapallovalmentaja? Millaista oli työskennellä valmentajana eri kulttuureissa? Mitä vuodet maailmalla opettivat ? Mestarivalmentaja kertoo uransa värikkäistä vaiheista, ikimuistoisista tapahtumista sekä matkan varrella kohtaamistaan ihmisistä. Tarinoissa kulkevat mukana esimerkiksi Vesa-Matti Loiri, Sir Alex Ferguson, Bobby Robson, Atik Ismail, Markku Kanerva, Matti Ahde, Jari Litmanen, Kevin Keegan, Ferenc Puskás, Pelé, Kai Pahlman sekä moni muu.

Teachers' Pedagogical Thinking challenges teachers and teacher educators to consider teachers' work from various points of view. The most recent research on teachers' thinking is used in building the theoretical framework for these concrete case studies. In these empirical studies, teachers' thinking is studied in different contexts, including teachers' mind sets, moral issues, rules, recipes of good teaching, and the supervision process. Teachers' pedagogical thinking is explored in the framework of making educational decisions by analyzing teachers' arguments and justifications for their practice. The book offers both theoretical and practical knowledge on teaching. It can be used as a textbook in teacher education or as an updated research report on teacher thinking.

This Element focuses on how music is experienced, articulated, and reclaimed in urban commercial environments. Special attention is paid to listeners, spaces, and music, co- and re-produced continuously in their triangular relationship affected by social, legal, economic, and technological factors. The study of the historical development of background music industries, construction of contemporary sonic environments, and individual meaning-making is based on extensive data gathered through interviews, surveys, and fieldwork, and supported by archival research. Due to the Finnish context and the ethnomusicological approach, this study is culture-sensitive, providing a fresh 'factory-to-consumer' perspective on a phenomenon generally understood as industry-lead, behavioral, and global. This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge Core.

Introduction to Rural Planning: Economies, Communities and Landscapes provides a critical analysis of the key challenges facing rural places and the ways that public policy and community action shape rural spaces. The second edition provides an examination of the composite nature of ‘rural planning’, which combines land-use and spatial planning elements with community action, countryside management and the projects and programmes of national and supra-national agencies and organisations. It also offers a broad analysis of entrepreneurial social action as a shaper of rural outcomes, with particular coverage of the localism agenda and Neighbourhood Planning in England. With a focus on accessibility and rural transport provision, this book examines the governance arrangements needed to deliver integrated solutions spanning urban and rural places. Through an examination of the ecosystem approach to environmental planning, it links the procurement of ecosystem services to the global challenges of habitat degradation and loss, climate change and resource scarcity and management. A valuable resource for students of planning, rural development and rural geography, Introduction to Rural Planning aims to make sense of current rural challenges and planning approaches, evaluating the currency of the ‘rural’ label in the context of global urbanisation, arguing that rural spaces are relational spaces characterised by critical production and consumption tensions.

This monograph is devoted to the study of spear operators, that is, bounded linear operators G between Banach spaces X and Y satisfying that for every other bounded linear operator T:X ? Y there exists a modulus-one scalar ? such that? G+?T? = 1 + ?T?.This concept extends the properties of the identity operator in those Banach spaces having numerical index one. Many examples among classical spaces are provided, being one of them the Fourier transform on L1. The relationships with the Radon-Nikodým property, with Asplund spaces and with the duality, and some isometric and isomorphic consequences are provided. Finally, Lipschitz operators satisfying the Lipschitz version of the equation above are studied. The book could be of interest to young researchers and specialists in functional analysis, in particular to those interested in Banach spaces and their geometry. It is essentially self-contained and only basic knowledge of functional analysis is needed.
New Money in Rural Areas

New Money in Rural Areas

This book examines the flow of investment into rural land assets in Europe, particularly farmland, woodland and wineries, but extending also to leisure uses such as golf courses and theme parks. It explores the characteristics of investors in rural land and their motivations before undertaking an analysis of the place impacts of investment, viewing ‘new money’ as a potential development opportunity, delivering a variety of outcomes for local landscapes and communities. After providing introductory insights into rural land investment and the measurement of associated impacts, ten case studies – from different European locations – explore actual investment motives and local impacts. The book concludes with a synthesis of investment experiences and an assessment of the transformative changes brought to rural areas by the flow of new money.
