Im Zentrum steht die Hebr ische Bibel, ihr Vor- und Nachleben im antiken Judentum sowie ihre vielfache Verzweigung in die benachbarten Kulturen der altorientalischen und hellenistisch-r mischen Welt.
This Oxford dissertation offers a fresh redactional analysis of the Book of Amos. It starts with a critical survey of existing approaches and an examination of the methodological issues involved and proceeds with a detailed exegetical analysis of the prophetic text which forms the basis for the redactional conclusions. It steers a middle course between extreme conservative treatments which trace all the material back to the prophet Amos and more radical sceptical approaches which attribute most of the prophetic oracles to the work of later redactors. The composition of the book began with two collections: the Polemical scroll written not long after the end of Amos’ ministry and the Repentance scroll composed shortly before 722 BC. The Repentance scroll was reworked in Judah towards the end of the 8th century BC and the two scrolls were combined to form a single work sometime during the 7th century BC. The Book underwent only one redaction during the exilic period which sought to actualise its message in a new historical context. The study pays special attention to the literary structure, aim and probable historical circumstances of the various collections which gradually evolved into the present Book of Amos and seeks to show how the prophetic message lived on and spoke to the various communities which preserved and transmitted it.

This book maps the entire development of Comenius’s considerations on man, from his earliest writings to his philosophical masterwork. Although this book primarily offers an analysis and description of the conception of man in Comenius’s work, it may also serve the reader as a more general introduction to his philosophical conception. The author shows that, in spite of the fact that Comenius has received no small amount of academic attention, funded studies or monographs in English language remain in single figures. Thus, a range of Comenius’s remarkable ideas are still unknown to the wider public.

Dans son parcours, l'auteur a mis en relief la dichotomie entre la foi en Dieu et la vie sociale chez les chr tiens d'Afrique. Or la foi ne se limite pas la pratique religieuse, c'est un chemin qui enveloppe tous les aspects de notre vie. Toute la mission de l'Eglise est d'interpeller les chr tiens prendre conscience de leur mission proph tique. Cette derni re exige courage et martyr. A toutes les poques, la voix proph tique se fait entendre, mais elle n'est pas toujours per ue, cout e. Ainsi donc l'Eglise d'Afrique ne doit pas se lasser faire entendre la parole proph tique chaque fois qu'il y a une incompatibilit entre la foi ou la liturgie et la vie quotidienne des chr tiens africains. Malgr l' loignement d'Amos dans le temps et dans l'espace, son message a encore une r sonnance dans la conscience des Africains d'aujourd'hui, dans leur vie de foi. Nous remarquons que les injustices que mettait nu le proph te Amos en son temps sont les m mes, sinon similaires, dans la pratique de la vie chr tienne en Afrique. Amos r agissait en son temps, il osait parler au nom de Dieu pour la pratique de la justice. L'Eglise d'Afrique peut s'en inspirer pour guider son action, mais en se r f rant constamment J sus-Christ, Parole d finitive de Dieu aux hommes. Les injustices sociales en Afrique constituent un d fi quant la mission proph tique de l'Eglise dans la soci t africaine.
