This represents a paradigm shift from the traditional discourse around cultural policy, which often posits that concepts of identity fall under the purview of heritage institutions and organizations, not that of industries. Drawing on the work of Boltanski and Thévenot—notably, their economies of worth framework—this book develops a typological analysis of cultural policy. Specifically, this book seeks to fill a gap in the cultural policy and cultural studies literature where identity and the cultural industries are concerned, expanding on the role of the cultural industries in the development of identity and the implications it has for cultural policy.

This book examines the theory and practice of nuclear deterrence between India and Pakistan, two highly antagonistic South Asian neighbors who recently moved into their third decade of overt nuclear weaponization. It assesses the stability of Indo-Pakistani nuclear deterrence and argues that, while deterrence dampens the likelihood of escalation to conventional—and possibly nuclear—war, the chronically embittered relations between New Delhi and Islamabad mean that deterrence failure resulting in major warfare cannot be ruled out. Through an empirical examination of the effects of nuclear weapons during five crises between India and Pakistan since 1998, as well as a discussion of the theoretical logic of Indo-Pakistani nuclear deterrence, the book offers suggestions for enhancing deterrence stability between these two countries.

Today's society has become entrenched between dynamic polarities; the search for the soul through the incorporation of spirituality, the development and overindulgence with the self, and belief and understanding there may be neither. As the culmination of embracing the spiritual within the ideology of the self has amassed a shift with modern society, the path toward enlightenment, knowledge, and the search of truth comes to fruition through the focused and concentrated efforts of a horizontal self-development and the abandonment of the soul for the self.

Da die Kulmination der Umarmung des Spirituellen innerhalb der Ideologie des Selbst eine Verschiebung mit der modernen Gesellschaft angeh uft hat, kommt der Weg zur Erleuchtung, zum Wissen und zur Suche nach der Wahrheit durch die fokussierten und konzentrierten Bem hungen einer horizontalen Selbstentwicklung und der Aufgabe der Seele f r das Selbst zum Tragen.
