He learns from those he meets that his woodland friends and billions like them are at risk of extinction as the planet warms. His concern inspires those he meets, including a TV host who puts him on his show. The world that opens to him is new and challenging, but The Stardust Kid makes his way, one step at a time. Simon Seeker is a boy's story written for adult readers.

Elizabeth and Her German Garden is a novel by Elizabeth von Arnim, first published in 1898; it was very popular and frequently reprinted during the early years of the 20th century. The story is a year's diary written by the protagonist Elizabeth about her experiences learning gardening and interacting with her friends. It includes commentary on the beauty of nature and on society, but is primarily humorous due to Elizabeth's frequent mistakes and her idiosyncratic outlook on life. She looked down upon the frivolous fashions of her time writing "I believe all needlework and dressmaking is of the devil, designed to keep women from study." The book is the first in a series about the same character. It is noteworthy for being published without a named author. Simon Harmon Vedder (1866-1937), Professions: Painter; Sculptor; Illustrator. Elizabeth von Arnim (31 August 1866 - 9 February 1941), born Mary Annette Beauchamp, was an Australian-born British novelist. By marriage she became Gr fin (Countess) von Arnim-Schlagenthin, and by a second marriage, Countess Russell. Although known in her early life as Mary, after the publication of her first book, she was known to her readers, eventually to her friends, and finally even to her family as Elizabeth 1] and she is now invariably referred to as Elizabeth von Arnim. She also wrote under the pen name Alice Cholmondeley. In 1891, Elizabeth married Count Henning August von Arnim-Schlagenthin, a Prussian aristocrat, whom she had met during an Italian tour with her father. They lived in Berlin and eventually moved to the countryside where, in Nassenheide, Pomerania, the Arnims had their family estate. The couple had five children, four daughters and a son. The children's tutors at Nassenheide included E. M. Forster and Hugh Walpole.n 1908 Arnim left Nassenheide to return to London.Count von Arnim died in 1910, and later that year she moved to Randogne, Switzerland, where she built the Chalet Soleil and entertained literary and society friends. From 1910 until 1913, she was a mistress of the novelist H.G. Wells. In 1916 she married John Francis Stanley Russell, 2nd Earl Russell, elder brother of Bertrand Russell. The marriage ended in acrimony, with Elizabeth fleeing to the United States and the couple separating in 1919, although they never divorced. In 1920, she embarked on an affair with Alexander Stuart Frere Reeves (1892-1984), a British publisher nearly 30 years her junior; he later married and named his only daughter Elizabeth in her honour. After leaving Germany, she lived, variously, in London, France and Switzerland. In 1939, on the outbreak of the Second World War, she returned to the United States, where she died of influenza at the Riverside Infirmary, Charleston, South Carolina, on 9 February 1941, aged 74. She was cremated at Fort Lincoln cemetery, Maryland and in 1947 her ashes were mingled with her brother Sydney's in the churchyard of St Margaret's, Tylers Green, Penn, Buckinghamshire. The Latin inscription on her tombstone reads, parva sed apta (small but apt), alluding to her short stature.

A telekinetic on the run. An FBI Agent determined to stop him. A mob boss with a secret plan. A hitman with too much on the line.Steven Ambrose wakes up paralyzed in the hospital with no memory, only to be told he's a serial bank robber shot in the head while being arrested. Everything changes when he discovers he has telekinetic powers. Now on the run, hunted by FBI Special Agent Rachel Moore, and with unknown enemies around every corner, can he change who he is, or is the dark criminal everyone accuses him of being too deeply a part of his nature to escape? If you are a fan or Marvel or DC comics/characters, if you loved the Bourne series, if you want an adventure with tension building towards a life-changing confrontation, you must read Simon Rising, a gritty, sometimes dark, character-driven adventure with no shortage of super-powered firefights, murders, pursuit, and a chase scene heavy in collateral damage.
Simon, a self-described "mild mannered banker", has founded himself banged up behind bars. A seemingly unassuming Client Investment Manager, Simon's day to day for the most part before his sentence revolved around helping the rich keep their wealth, even if that meant a little bit of fraudulent tax avoidance here and there. But trading the flash suits and phony smiles of the banking business in for the traumatically thin walls of an underfunded prison cell, Simon's new occupation has him completely out of his depth, but strangely enough he finds himself acclimatising to his new environment surprisingly well. Told through intimate flashbacks detailing how Simon managed to get himself in this situation in the first place, the banker's unlikely foray into the criminal underworld is a far cry from what he expected. Detailing the character's downfall in the run up to his stint in prison, the unlucky Simon is put through the ringer as he stumbles through encounters with everyone from high profile businessmen to low-level druggies. Full of dishonourable rogues, a good dose of backstabbing and some biting satirical social commentary for good measure, this unlikely criminal tale is brilliantly brought to life in the pages of Simon Carroll's new novel, Don Simon. Told from the perspective of the titular con, the stakes continue to grow as the situations the former banker finds himself in get more and more out of hand, with Simon's view of the world becoming just as twisted and warped as the people on both sides of the law that he has to deal with.
