If you've ever longed for a heartfelt mentor, this book is for you. Skies have never been brighter for women leaders. As the balance of power shifts to employees who demand the kind of work experience we excel at creating, glass ceilings are shattering everywhere. But women who long to rise have questions: What really goes on in the C-suite? What skills do women on top hone and deploy? What blocks their ascent? And what sacrifices do they make to get there-especially when they also have a family? Deb Boelkes wrote Strong Suit: Leadership Success Secrets From Women on Top to answer these questions. This book-the last in a four-part series-is meant to fill the mentoring gap that holds so many women leaders back. The author's own story, combined with the reflections of seven high-level women from various industries, yields a wealth of insights. You'll learn how to: Identify and leverage your innate superpowers-aka your strong suits-and those of your teamStrike the balancing act of staying open to new opportunities while holding firm to personal brandCultivate a network of meaningful connections with trusted peers as well as leaders outside your industryMaster the mindset shifts, emotional minefields, and tricky logistics that come with being a working motherBrimming with tips, tactics, and introspections-and featuring a special section on career and motherhood--this book will resonate with women at every stage. It's perfect for students charting an educational path, women at mid-career exploring their next move, and seasoned leaders who are still on the journey of pursing their callings and crafting a life lived without regrets.

Forgetting to Remember

Deb Kline

A beacon of hope. Deb Kline's heart-wrenching and soul-giving true story, offers a love letter to kindred incest and rape survivors, a guidebook to those who love and care for them, and a powerful vicarious experience to help us all empathize with the plight of one in four girls and one in six boys. Out of deep wounding, the author emerges a healer by courageously trekking inward, dodging monsters in her psyche, and stumbling downward into the shadows of forgotten trauma. There, she unearths dark family secrets. Her adult life shatters into chaos when these childhood memories resurface. During this chaos, Deb rediscovers what she had learned in order to survive-that artistry is soul medicine. Music, poetry, dance and art, her heart's compositions become her healing balm. Captivating, devastating, perceptive, and life affirming, Forgetting to Remember exposes the intimate damage of trauma and embodies the triumphant human spirit. As Nancy Jones, PhD, Director Emeritus, Writing Resource Center, University of Iowa College of Law, puts it, "If you ever wanted evidence that artistry can heal, look no further than Deb Kline's Forgetting to Remember. The story tells Kline's path from incest and rape-with all the brokenness and shattered sense of herself that this abuse wrought-towards the wholeness that years of increasing self-awareness and work with professionals in western and eastern medicine make possible. The narrative itself is riveting, but more arresting is the sheer beauty of the story's form, and of the sentences that, through sophisticated metaphors and stylistic shapes, catch readers up in lyricism.... Kline has turned her story into art, enfolding herself in art's healing powers, and taking readers along for the illuminating and transcendent ride."

One moment after making a senseless, hasty decision, Jillian's life as she knew it had vanished, replaced by a terrifying, living nightmare. Her twin brother, Private Detective Dakota Hunt and their family have been searching for her ever since. Dakota felt that he was to blame, believing that if he had only been there minutes earlier, he would have prevented her from getting into the mysterious pickup truck. Shameful guilt devoured all sense of self-worth, causing him to exist in a world of sorrow and self-loathing. He felt like half of his soul had been ripped away and tossed into a savage parallel world with a heart-wrenching, fate intended.Dakota believed that until he located Jillian, he didn't deserve to be happy, because he failed to protect her like he always had before that devastatingly fateful day. After years of investigating sex crimes with the Denver police department, Dakota decided to begin his own Private Investigative service, specializing in sex trafficking and abduction cases. After years of searching for Jillian with no success, Dakota opened and began operating a trucking company with a dedicated team of retired police and military professionals, to help him search for Jillian and hunt for sex traffickers across the U.S. Ten years later, the team joined a special FBI task force and began successfully taking down major trafficking organizations, leaving Dakota and his family with renewed hope that they would soon discover what happened to Jillian.

Anji, a young woman living with her family in a small, remote town in northwest Alaska, is overwhelmed with remorse after witnessing a terrifying incident in Anchorage that she chose to keep undisclosed. She asks herself, "If I had let out a blood curdling scream and sprinted toward the girl, could I have changed her fate or would I have unintentionally altered my own?" Anji believes in the science and truth of all things, rather than in the widely accepted spiritual philosophies of her family and friends. A major turning point, unraveling her previously held convictions occurred when she caught a glimpse of the face of a young woman who appeared in a mysterious aurora borealis display. Confusion overwhelms her as she attempts to discover the meaning of the startling vision and solve a puzzling mystery. Understanding there could be a connection to the woman, Anji is determined to help the authorities purge the state of the heinous criminals who have been trafficking and murdering young Alaskan women. She enlists the help of group of courageous people, including Private Detective Dakota Hunt's heroic task force team to assist in taking down a significant organized trafficking syndicate which has plagued Alaska for decades.

YOU DESERVE TO BE YOU-EVEN IF OTHERS DISAGREE Do you dream of feeling confident in your own skin? Of no longer worrying what people think of you and whether they will approve? Can your day turn on a dime with a look or a comment? Do you feel like what you do is never enough-that you're never enough? Has all of that pressure left you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed? Maybe turning to food for comfort? This book is for you. Despite what you may think, I doubt you are weak, disorganized, codependent, a people pleaser, or that you lack motivation or willpower. Nor are you alone. Over my many years working with women in therapy, it would be hard to count the number of bright, capable, successful women who have shared their fears of not being "good enough", or how easily they are derailed by disapproval. And I have yet to meet a woman who feels her body is as it "should" be.So, why is it that so many women feel they don't measure up or find themselves constantly scrambling for approval or to be "good enough"? Never Enough explores, the external factors, including our history as women, that keep us looking outside of ourselves for how we "should" be, while abandoning our true selves, our internal wisdom, and all that we were meant to be in this life how the brain, in an effort to protect and help us, often makes change difficult and knowledge insufficient in changing patterns of behavior the specific skills that have helped women turn this aroundMy gift, as a licensed psychologist, is helping women celebrate their unique beauty and truth and to step out of the no-win struggle to gain approval and be "enough."be yourself and trust your yourself, even when facing disapproval deal with uncomfortable feelings like fear and guilt when speaking upfeel confident and comfortable in your bodycelebrate who you are-your wisdom and beautyknow what you need and be able to ask for it in an effective wayfinally get to the place where you can relax

Do you ever find yourself trying to squeeze notes in the margins of a book? Do you run out of room, have trouble deciphering what you wrote, or later have trouble finding the note when you need it? It's frustrating, isn't it?I love taking notes when I read an educational book. I write all over the margins, and if there isn't enough space, I grab whatever piece of scrap paper I can find. Sometimes, attempting to be more organized, I find a notebook to write in. I have piles of notebooks. Do I know which notebook I used for which book? Hardly. And despite my good intentions, those scraps of paper seem to disappear, never to be found again.I created this workbook because I want to help you avoid all that frustration. In this workbook, specifically designed to accompany the book Never Enough-Separating Self-Worth from Approval, you'll have a place to take notes on each chapter and to write or illustrate your answers to the ideas for reflection questions found at the end of each chapter.During my many years working as a licensed psychologist, I've noticed that repeated exposure to information in a variety of forms seems to be most helpful in learning new skills. Clients who took notes and read them between sessions, who reflected on what we talked about in session, and who practiced the skills made the most movement in changing old patterns.I hope this workbook will support you in doing that by making it easier for you to take notes, reflect, and practice the skills of the BLOOM model. Use this workbook to "underline" and what is most important for you in separating your worth from approval.Cheering you on as you blossom and bloom, Deb
