Drawing on the writings of James Baldwin, W. E. B. DuBois, M. Shawn Copeland, and others, the author weaves together historical, theological, ethical, and sociological analysis to understand the origins and evolution of anti-Black white supremacy and to suggest ways in which white Christians in particular can work to overcome it in themselves and in their institutions.

Trapped in a prematurely middle-aged life in rural Norfolk, Edward finds his precariously constructed world is crumbling around him. Determined to unravel his own unresolved mystery and inspired by the fire of romantic connection, he heads for the bright white city of Arequipa, high in the Peruvian Andes, on a quest to find his absent father. A quarter of a century earlier, Judith’s footsteps walk the same streets, as her own life takes an unexpected turn. Pushing past setbacks, she allows herself finally to live in the moment, only to realise, much too late, that choices always have consequences. Back in the present, having thought his goal to be a simple missing person search, Edward discovers much more than he could have anticipated. As he absorbs the magic of Peru and its people, the pieces of his life at last come together. Will he come home at all, and even if he does, can the new Edward be sure of the path he should take?

As a photographer for Life and Fortune magazines, Margaret Bourke-White traveled to Russia in the 1930s, photographed the Nazi takeover of Czechoslovakia in 1938, and recorded the liberation of Buchenwald at the end of WWII. In 1949, Life sent her to South Africa to take photographs in a country that was becoming racially polarized by white minority rule. Life published two photo-essays highlighting Bourke-White's photographs, but much of her South African work remained unpublished until now. Here, these stunning photographs collected by Alex Lichtenstein and Rick Halpern offer an unparalleled visual record of white domination in South Africa during the early days of apartheid. In addition to these powerful and historically significant photographs, Lichtenstein and Halpern include two essays that explore Bourke-White's artistic and political formation and provide background material about the cultural, political, and economic circumstances that produced the rise and triumph of Afrikaner nationalism in South Africa. This richly illustrated book brings to light a large body of photography from a major American photographer and offers a compelling history of a reprehensible system of racial conflict and social control that Bourke-White took such pains to document.

This document reveals the extent of impunity insi- de the Prosecutor General's Office, which was per- meated by the interests of its leader. It provides an indictment-like account of the actions that set the course of the investigations into a number of serious corruption cases in Colombia, which have been stonewalled by a prosecutor who was being propped up by the most prominent figures of the nation ́s financial and political power- houses who were involved with him in such wrongful acts. Vernot tracks down the actions of the former Prosecutor General Nestor Humberto Mart nez Neira, in the web of corruption created by Odebrecht and its local partners in an attempt to be awarded public works contracts worth billions in the country. The author clearly shows how, while the top-le- vel offenders were convicted elsewhere in Latin America, the cover-up -Mart nez's fundamental purpose while he was in charge of the Nation's Prosecutor General's Office prevailed in the Colombian case.

Hope is a very controversial feeling, sometimes it can even drive a person crazy. But Hope is one of the key trends in the horoscope for 2020. Hope for a better future: stability in personal life, achievement of goals in the professional and financial spheres, confidence in the future of the country and in the well-being of all mankind. The horoscope for 2020 predicts luck to representatives of all the signs of the zodiac who are ready to work hard. The patron of this cycle is the White Metal Rat, which means hard work and determination will be fully rewarded. But do not wait for the immediate benefits, and the risk becomes completely unjustified, even if it seems to you that all options for the development of events are provided. When solving any problems, it is better to rely on logic, but the mind will not always prevail over feelings, since the numerological characteristic of 2020 indicates the importance of feelings, emotions and instincts. During this period, the level of personality development and worldview come out in first place, which will largely determine the individual forecast for each zodiac sign. Generally, The year 2020 promises success in achieving the desired results in any field - whether it be business, everyday life, personal life or health. In the year of the Rat, it is important not to neglect trifles, since for this animal any of the events is of great importance.
