Chelsea has always been a district beloved by the influential and wealthy. Initially a small riverside village that centred around Chelsea Old Church, from the eighteenth century Chelsea mushroomed inland and the King’s Road, originally the private road of Charles II, became its main artery. New buildings replaced Chelsea’s market gardens and fields, and streets and squares were developed on what had been previously private estates. It became a popular artists’ colony and its bohemian reputation continued in post-war London when the King’s Road became a major fashion hub and Mary Quant and Vivienne Westwood established their boutiques. Its Old Town Hall has been the venue for fashionable weddings, and Chelsea’s many listed buildings, including the Royal Hospital designed by Wren and home to the Chelsea Flower show, designer shops, theatre, concert hall, the Saatchi Gallery in the Duke of York Headquarters and characterful pubs make it a delight to visit and explore. Chelsea in 50 Buildings unveils the history of this fascinating area of West London through a selection of its most interesting buildings and structures, showing the changes that have taken place over the years. This book will appeal to all those who live in Chelsea or who have an interest in the area.

Welcome to Chelsea Handler's world--a place where absurdity reigns supreme and a quick wit is the best line of defense. When Chelsea Handler needs to get a few things off her chest, she appeals to a higher power--vodka. Seems reasonable, when considering that she discovered her boyfriend was having an affair with a Peekapoo and she had to pretend to be honeymooning with her father in order to upgrade to first class. In this highly entertaining, deliciously skewed collection, Chelsea mines her past for stories about her family, relationships, and career that are at once singular and ridiculous. Whether she's convincing her third-grade class that she has been chosen to play Goldie Hawn's daughter in the sequel to Private Benjamin, deciding to be more egalitarian by dating a redhead, or looking out for a foulmouthed, rum-swilling little person who looks just like her...only smaller, Chelsea has a knack for getting herself into the most outrageous situations. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea showcases the candor and irresistible turns of phrase that have made her one of the freshest voices in comedy today.

The wealthy riverside neighbourhood of Chelsea, situated in the centre of the capital, began as a Saxon village outside of London town. Although its population had grown to 3,000 by 1694, Chelsea was still considered rural, which was part of its attraction as a fashionable destination for the rich. With the development boom of the nineteenth century, however, the ‘village of palaces’ was fully absorbed into the metropolis, yet retained its charm and identity separate from the surrounding city. Chelsea Bridge opened in 1858, Albert Bridge in 1873, and the Chelsea Embankment in 1874. During the nineteenth century, the district’s Victorian artists’ colony gave it a reputation for bohemian creativity, and this re-emerged in the 1960s when Chelsea became identified with ‘Swinging London’, a centre of creativity and expression. The story of the district, home of the famous Chelsea bun, the Chelsea Porcelain Factory and Chelsea FC is chronicled in this unique collection of old and new images.

The complete collection of the Chelsea's Secrets series This boxed set includes all three volumes. Follow the Chelsea and her adventures through: Volume 1 - The Seduction: Chelsea has just arrived in the big, bustling city of Boston to pursue her Master's degree. As an Idaho native, Chelsea finds the city to be both welcoming and overwhelming, all at once. She's naive in the ways of love and sex, and has much to learn of both worlds. One day, Chelsea is walking home when she passes by a house fire at a South End brownstone. A crowd has gathered around the house as it burns. As Chelsea starts to leave, she notices a handsome, mysterious man leaving the scene quickly. He carries an old and decidedly shabby suitcase. Two big men in black suddenly brush past Chelsea and chase the odd man. He drops his suitcase as he starts to run, fleeing for his life. Chelsea is left holding the suitcase and a big mystery. Who was the man with the suitcase? Why was she so drawn to him? Who were the men chasing him? How did she get involved in such a mystery? As her loneliness as an Idaho transplant in the big city grows, Chelsea starts to investigate. Chelsea finds herself entangled in a web of mystery and seduction as the man with the suitcase turns out to be something quite different from any man Chelsea had ever known before. Will she get caught up in passion and desire? Will she survive this spicy, but potentially deadly mystery? Volume 2 - The Pearl Necklace: After solving the mystery of the man and the suitcase, Chelsea feels more confident in her new city and with her new-found sexuality. She returns to running, one of her favorite pastimes back in Idaho, when she happens upon the famous George Washington statue in the Boston Public Gardens. When she finds a pearl necklace floating in a pool of blood in front of the statue, Chelsea is horrified. A single clue is engraved on the necklace, "For 1 Waltham Street". Chelsea makes it her second job to track down the owner of the necklace in a wild ride that takes her through the streets of Boston and into its bedrooms. Volume 3 - The Haunting: Chelsea is tired of the supernatural world she's been thrust into ever since moving to Boston. After unraveling a twisted world of vampires, witches and sexual exploits over the past few months, she is looking forward to a break. Unfortunately, no such break awaits her. There is a ghost haunting her college's study hall and her handsome professor, George, wants Chelsea on the case. What she finds there surprises her, as she opens the gates to a whole new world of sexual experiences and mysteries. Fans of Stephenie Meyer, Bella Andre, and Kristan Higgins will love this quirky action-romance series with strong, independent women and sexy alpha heroes. Praise for Chelsea's Secrets: "The combination of a strong female with a sexy alpha male really works well in this paranormal romance...I thought this was very hot and also had an interesting story to go with all the wild sex." "The entire story just about shivers with sexual tension. Can't wait to see where this story goes next "

Many brief tales combine into a micro-saga of the Twins, Chelsea and Clarence. A deceptively short book full of thoughtful fun Julesworks are (in this instance) PQ Ribber and Stephen Jules Rubin, who somehow combine forces despite the implausibility of said collaboration, including this write-up. The characters were originally created in Portland, Oregon with Jules and Yvette Tourangeau, in a park, using small notebooks. Sister-less, Jules always thought having a sister would be neat and took it a step further...so the male/female dynamo twin duo were created. Jules ran with the characters and some random adventures for a bit and then teamed with PQ. Over many years, short tales were written and revised, with a special shout out to the late Amanda DeAngeles for helping PQ with editing and and now, thanks to the guidance of Trent Zelazny, this novella is being released. Mentioned in this novella are other characters from the Jules/Ribber universe including a Jules himself and the Jackson Five, implying perhaps more novellas in this vein might be to come. Whatever happens in the future, we hope you enjoy this dreamy, strange novella telling of the twins Chelsea and Clarence and their immediate clan.
