Hidden on a bushy hillock, Garry scrutinized the perimeter surrounding a construction site, east of the American Mall. A morning breeze gusted through the landscape and his hands, wrapped around a rifle, sweated cold. From time to time, he raised a telescope and focused on the massive building facing the hillock: The Hauss & Caust Bank. There, behind a wall, his brother Edward was on the lookout with a gun in his hand. What about Peter and Jonass? He envisioned them in a ditch, small, frail, and fearful. What a moment for the Conway brothers Further they went back in memory, less they understood why they had followed the path of such a terrible criminal career. Garry remembered the trauma of his first years as an outlaw. As in a dream, he saw himself chained with robbers and killers and heard the prosecutor's voice enumerating his criminal offenses. Arrest, trial, and prison, the familiar images of his life, formed a heartbreaking collection of shame and infamy. He had a poignant sense of moral failure and, suddenly, wept like a child. The images of his past displayed a film describing the story of a heartless bastard. The expression of his face softened until the armored car appeared on the perimeter surrounding the construction site; he then became stern and steely. Raising the telescope, he lay down under a bush and took his gun.

And Vivi hasn't told the rest of the gang about what happened with the villainous Arawn appearing in her dream. She definitely hasn't mentioned how scared she is to fall asleep, in case he reappears. Even Nimue has been quiet. As much as Vivi wants to hope that it's all over, part of her knows it isn't... On Dara's birthday, an invitation comes from their cousin Meredith; come stay on Bardsey Island for a week, stay at their cottage, and celebrate Halloween. And bring all your friends! Vivi can't refuse an opportunity to go back to Wales, and her friends are immediately excited for star-spotting, foraging, hiking, and just general adventuring. Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition, the book presents the evolution of the pictorial work of Anna Conway (Durango, Colorado, 1973) from her debut up to the last works of 2016. It is the first monograph dedicated to the American painter. Conway's approach to representation - at the same time precise, methodical, analytical and intuitive - involves the depiction of scenes that blend close observation and pure imagination together, along with an almost narrative attention to the place, the moment and the characters. The book features images of the paintings specifically created for the exhibition together with an extensive iconographic summary of her earlier works, as well as a critical contribution by Mario Diacono and an interview with the artist by American critic Bob Nickas, who has been following Conway's research for a long time. Text in English and Italian.
