A photographic tour of the archives and libraries of Rome Austrian photographer Cornelia Mittendorfer (born 1953) portrays Rome's libraries and archives in black-and-white photos capturing the people and spaces that hold the history of a city and a civilization.
The paintings and installations of Cornelia Baltes straddle the divide between abstraction and figuration. Her pictures are inspired by observations of mundane details - apparel, body parts, or facial expressions - that she pares down to simple lines and shapes. She often interrogates the painted pictures's function, by painting on the wall beyond the canvas, by hanging a picture in the middle of the room as an object in its own right or laying it our on the floor.

I came to New York when I was seventeen. I had all these ideas about how my life was gonna turn out. When I think about those ideas now, I don’t know if I should laugh or shit. In a back street in the West Village, Jacob Towney tries to save the restaurant that has been his home for longer than he can remember and release his daughter to the life he dreams she can have. His place is a home for the odd ghosts of the village. It is out of place and out of time and running out of luck. This edition was published to coincide with the off-Broadway premiere at New York’s Atlantic Theater, in February 2023.

Life is a game… one that is easily altered. On the corrupt island of Silvertown, nobility dictates destiny, and as the daughter of a noble family, seventeen-year-old Cornelia Fairfield is destined for a loveless marriage. True to her rebellious nature, Cornelia has spent her childhood disobeying all the rules and acquiring numerous less-than-ladylike skills, encouraged by her Admiral father. But with her mother determined to secure her a match, Cornelia’s days of freedom are fast running out. That is… until her father succumbs to the curse of the Oblivion Sea. Seeing an opportunity for the adventure she craves, Cornelia sets out to rescue him, with the help of a handsome yet frustratingly superstitious pirate named Adrien. But saving her father requires sacrifices she was not anticipating, and when she is forced to strike a dangerous bargain, she not only risks losing her father, but her own freedom as well.
