Cynthia and Daphne. Translated From the Italian of Il Cavalier Marino. With a Dedication in Blank Verse, to the Duke of York
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.Western literary study flows out of eighteenth-century works by Alexander Pope, Daniel Defoe, Henry Fielding, Frances Burney, Denis Diderot, Johann Gottfried Herder, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and others. Experience the birth of the modern novel, or compare the development of language using dictionaries and grammar discourses. ++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Cynthia Marie - You Don't Have to Stay There
These Great Stories in this Anthology show us how to push through past pain. After reading this Anthology your thought pattern will be changed. If you find that the pain that you feeling is progressively becoming worse, is severe, intense, or disabling you should push through it. Always remember that your feelings are just a thought. When you change your thought pattern your feelings change. When we look deep inside ourselves and realize that we are True Conquers then we understand that we must push past the pain. Pushing past the pain changes your thinking and we move on. You Don't Have To Stay There.

WYLIE'S WERKST TTE: THE NEW COMFORT ZONE Would you like to wait here in the sitting room or sit here in the waiting room? - Firesign Theatre We spend a considerable chunk of our existence(s) sitting and waiting, waiting for doctors, lawyers, clients, (potential) employers, jury foremen, auto repairmen, planes, trains, restaurant seats, ad infinitum. Why do we dread such down time? Because everything about the spaces in which we wait reinforces our sense of suspension, our sense of lost time, our sense that, no matter what work or reading we manage to accomplish in these interstices, we are doing nothing but aging. We sit in waiting rooms. Cynthia Wylie would have us wait in sitting rooms. She re-Imagines the transitional space as a welcoming locus, a warm and lively-looking environment whose smart and charming details are boldly described and, ultimately, reassuring, reintroducing natural forces otherwise conspicuous by their absence. It doesn't matter whether these handsome prints and delicate images define a public or a private room; they enliven the domestic setting no less than the common. Wylie's approach to design - her dedication to an integrated approach to interior elaboration no less than her complex but highly ordered and carefully stylized "language of form" - harks back to concepts and styles we regard as from a much different time and place. But, if we know that the decorous yet sensuous approaches of Art Nouveau, the Craftsman style, and the Wiener Werkstst tte - not to mention their progeny, including Art Deco and the Bauhaus - are the day-before-yesterday's avant garde, we find that the spirit, and even the manner(s), they unleashed upon a thirsty world a century ago not only remain fresh, but quench the same thirst now. Everything old is new again - and not a moment too soon. Call it win-win Werkst tte. Cynthia Wylie has rescued and renewed the transitional space, allowing us precisely the happy transit we need.

"Beautifully written." -- Eric Chaet, writer, poet, American original, author of People I Met Hitchhiking On USA Highways. Cynthia's world is full of fury and fishing, moonlight and candlelight, magical red berries and howling caverns, a land where many of us would like to visit, and a few do, briefly in our youth. Perhaps we all secretly want to explore such places of the soul where we dream of blue cats and hearts capable of idyllic and adventurous sensuality. "I loved your book Thank you It is a 'page burner' I started it on the plane and couldn't put it down until I finished it at the hotel pool " -- Mary Lu Sanders-Zinser, Intellectual Property Law Center.
