Awaken Wonder is a four-week devotional journey through the Advent season, in preparation for Christmas, with pastor and teacher Darrell Johnson. Each week begins with a Gospel passage and unfolds through daily reflections and historic prayers, inviting readers to step into the wonder of the Christmas story. Rooted in Scripture and drawn from decades of preaching, these reflections help us see again the surprising beauty of Jesus' arrival and the way it continues to reshape our lives today. Whether you're returning to the story or discovering it anew, this book is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and awaken wonder this Advent. __ "Christmas (as well as Advent) is a season pregnant with so many gifts that often go unreceived by us, simply because we have not been made aware of their existence. In Awaken Wonder, Darrell Johnson helps close this gap, steadily and warmly helping us see aspects of the story from new perspectives that become wells of revelation from which the reader can draw as deeply as they are willing to go. Darrell's writing is clearly informed by his decades of dedicated study of the Scriptures, his lived experience as a pastor and-most undeniably-his dynamic and living love of the Messiah, Emmanuel, of whom he writes." - Brooke Ligertwood, Songwriter and Worship Leader

This is an introductory text for a basic computer literacy course. It was written because we found that most of the available texts were extremely expensive (up to and over $150.) We felt that this was, not only excessive, but also counterproductive. Very few students would be likely to buy this kind of text at that price. We have tried to include all of the material necessary for an introductory computer literacy course, but, in order to keep a low price for our students, we have attempted to include ONLY what would be necessary for such a course. Contents include: 1. Introduction - History of computer development, different classes of computers, networks and communication, information processing cycle 2. Computer Components - CPU, memory, secondary storage, input, output and communications devices, 3. Computer Software - System software (operating systems, utility programs), application programs, ethical issues related to software 4. The System Unit - Motherboard, CPU, Types of Memory, Secondary Storage, Data representation, connecters and ports 5. Input - Keyboards, scanners, pointing devices (mouse, trackball, touchscreen, ...), 6. Output - Monitors, projectors, wearables, printers, fonts, audio output 7. Storage - Hard disk drives, optical storage, obsolete media, cloud storage 8. Networks and Internet - Internet development, Internet services (WWW, e-mail, FTP, ... ), e-commerce, Internet architecture (HTML, TCP/IP, routers, servers, ... ), social issues, security.

No one could ever get fully inside the mind of Jesus, but we can gain important insights through a better understanding of the contexts in which he spoke and acted. For example, with whom was he speaking and interacting in that moment? Where did this take place? How can the events of the history of the period in general, and the many new and often unexpected archaeological discoveries, in particular from the time of Jesus, enhance our understanding of what he was thinking? And what light can the answers to these and related questions shed on what we already know about Jesus from the Four Gospels? This book attempts to provide some answers to these questions with the intent of leading the reader toward a deeper understanding of his wholly human yet wholly divine character. This in turn will hopefully create a deeper and more grounded faith.

In 1980, Katina Strauch started the Charleston Conference: Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition to bring together librarians, publishers, and vendors to discuss issues shared by the three groups. The meeting has continued annually and boasts over 3,000 attendees in person and virtually. This memoir is Katina’s diary and story of the Charleston Conference and its development concurrently with her career as a professional librarian. Over the last 45 years, there have been massive changes in scholarly communication, changes that Katina has been at the heart of. Where and what will the library and publishing professions develop next? The sky’s the limit to reimagining! Let’s go.
Moral Reflections on the Epistles and Gospels of Every Sunday, Throughout the Whole Year. in Four Volumes. ... by Mr. Dorrell [sic], ... the Fifth Edition. Volume 2 of 4
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title.
