THE AUTHOR OF THE POPULAR CAJE COLE WWII SERIES TAKES US BACK TO THE ERA OF THE CIVIL WAR AND AN EPIC NATIONAL CONFLICTAn April morning in Baltimore turns bloody and violent as the first Union troops arrive in the border state of Maryland, where adventurer Tom Flynn tries to avoid choosing sides as the War Between the States begins. Quick with his fists and good at cards, he'd much rather spend his time drinking whiskey on the waterfront than being a soldier again. An impulsive act of compassion soon has him running for his life. He ought to know better, but he can't help standing up for what is right.Flynn soon journeys to the Southern capitol of Richmond to save an idealistic Union spy not only from herself, but also from forces who see the new conflict not as a game, but with deadly intent. In Virginia, he has no choice but to join the dreaded Dark Horse Cavalry just in time for the first Battle of Bull Run. The citizens of Washington City have come to watch the battle with picnic baskets in hand, expecting a Union victory. However, in the first bloody clash of the Confederacy against the Union, it becomes clear that this war will be brutal and long. In the midst of the battlefield, Flynn must fight to save the spy, protect new friends, and settle old scores.

Even before John Smith's crew weathered its first squall, the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries had been ravaged by every type of storm imaginable. A 1769 hurricane altered the course of history, demolishing the shipping channels of Charlestown and making Baltimore the dominant port. A once-in-five-hundred-years storm, Tropical Storm Agnes, left more than seventy people dead and devastated the ecology of the bay. Before the blizzards of 2009 and 2010, the snowfall record was held by the combination of the Great Eastern Blizzard of 1899, which blew the water out of the bay, and the Great White Hurricane, which stranded the oyster fleet of Baltimore in feet of ice. Join author David Healey as he keeps an eye to the red horizon and chronicles the most remarkable storms to churn the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.

Bats in the attic and a body in the wall ... Delmarva Renovators has come to Chesapeake City on Maryland's Eastern Shore to return the faded Captain Cosden house to its former glory for the latest installment of its online home improvement show. At first, the colorful houses and unique history of the old waterfront town on the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal seem like the perfect setting. But in addition to leaky pipes, bats and crumbling plaster, the cast and crew soon encounter more than what's on their punch list when a mummified body tumbles out of a wall. The discovery unleashes a new series of killings as someone sets out to settle old grudges. With the renovation project at a halt and the future of Delmarva Renovators in jeopardy, it's up to the show's producer and renovator extraordinaire Tom Martell to solve the long-ago murder and stop whoever is killing to avenge old wrongs.

Dr. David's First Health Book of MORE (Not Less): More food, more sex, more faith, and everything else you need for health, happiness and longevity.
DR. DAVID'S PASSION PLAN Ten steps to a long, independent and healthier life. Having taken care of thousands of older patients, many of whom had serious medical problems while others remained well and healthy to age 90 and beyond. From this experience and a lifetime of research of I learned what it takes to live a long, happy, independent and healthy life. It's more than just an apple a day, an occasional trip to the doctor or committing to get into shape. As the baby boomers reach the age of 60 and beyond it becomes ever more important for them to do what it takes to prepare for a healthy and a better future, always living in dignity, in your own home without ever having to depend on others. Follows these rules and I garuantee that your wishes will be met. 1.Be passionate about everything you do. Take on tasks with joy and enthusiasm and remember that life's goals are always achievable. 2.Seek Peace. Stress is a major cause of illness and loss of dependency. Learn to relax through meditation, prayer, Yoga, Tai Chi and physical and relaxation exercises. 3.More Love. Love is the key to longevity. Those in long standing, loving monogamous and intimate relationships live substantially longer. Remember that love exists in many forms between parent and child, student and teacher, friends and community. Never be lonely. 4.More Self Love. Those who have low self esteem, do not feel good about themselves and are overly self critical, are prone to illness and a shorter life expectancy. Always remember that you are truly beautiful. 5.More and better sex. Don't take yourself too seriously, be happy and remember that love, intimacy and connection are the keys to a great sex life. 6.Embrace your faith. Those who believe in a higher power live longer and are healthier than those who don't. The key though is being spiritual; that requires that you be a good, loving, giving and forgiving human being. 7.Develop a better relationship with food. Learn to eat right, don't diet and eat to stay healthy not as comfort or to relieve stress. 8.Move More. Exercise is the true Longevity Pill. The more you exercise the better. 9.Be an Empowered consumer of health care. Don't believe everything your doctor tells you, learn about any illness that afflicts you and what questions to ask so that you can make an educated decision about how you wish to be treated. Remember that half of all health care expenditures are unnecessary and can do more harm than good. Doctors are in business, focus on the bottom line, do more than they should and order unneeded tests and prescribe the most expensive medications and perform procedures for which there is no scientific evidence of benefit. 10.Be Free. One of the beauties of reaching age 50 and beyond is that we become less burdened with responsibilities, with the desire to achieve our set goals, the children are grown and yes the best is yet to come. We are free to age in place, to move, to continue working to start a new career, to travel and enjoy life to the fullest.
Daily Reflections from Dr. David R. Hawkins: 365 Contemplations on Surrender, Healing, and Consciousness
A collection of 365 insightful quotes from best-selling author and consciousness researcher Dr. David R. Hawkins to guide readers on the path to enlightenment. This collection of inspiring quotes from world-renowned consciousness researcher and mystic Dr. David R. Hawkins can help readers elevate their level of consciousness. In doing so, they will explore ways to understand truth, raise their awareness, and find enlightenment and infinite peace. Readers will engage with some of Dr. Hawkins's most profound insights from his classic works, such as: To best serve the world, seek enlightenment and transcend illusions rather than contribute to them.Success comes about automatically from knowing where to look. Not what to look for, but where to look. We do not look at what we have, nor at what we do, but at what we are. Once we find within ourselves what we've been searching for, we won't have to bother looking "out there."We can't own that which is great within ourselves unless we learn to recognize it in others.Peace comes with total inner surrender to what is.By continuously letting go, it is possible to stay in that state of freedom. Feelings come and go, and eventually you realize that you are not your feelings, but that the real "you" is merely witnessing them.
