Delighting in the King of Kings: A Study on the Book of Matthew - Volume Three: Chapters 21-28 (Delighting in the Lord Bible Study)
Jesus Savior, Redeemer, Risen Lord-Eternal King Crowds of people had been following Jesus throughout Galilee, Judea, and Jericho. They watched Him heal the broken, be merciful to outcasts, preach of God's kingdom, and most recently, raise Lazarus from the dead. Is this Jesus the Messiah? Is He the One who would bring peace and deliverance to the nation of Israel while ushering in God's kingdom? Some believed, many questioned, but the religious rulers sought to discredit and kill Him. One week before His death, Jesus rode into Jerusalem as a humble King of peace. Crowds of people stood by crying, "Save now, Son of David " But His deliverance would not be temporal, it would be eternal. He would not release the Jews from the Roman oppression at that time but would conquer all evil. The very peace that defined Jesus would be the peace He would put in the hearts of those who believed Him to be the Messiah. Determined to make Him King, the people shouted His praise and adulation. But seeing the cross in the distance, Jesus knew He would not receive the heavenly crown until He wore the earthly crown of thorns put upon Him by the people. Jesus' method, timing, and the meaning of His entrance were all prophesied long before. Jesus knew that His entry into Jerusalem would lead the way to His triumphant resurrection from the dead. The initial shouts of praise would quickly turn to shouts of crucifixion just days later. The chant of "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest," would turn to "Crucify Him." Without rightful cause, the religious leaders, Roman government, and the people would condemn Jesus to death on the cross. During Passover, Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, would be killed for the sins of the people. However, the cross couldn't destroy Him, the tomb couldn't hold Him, and three days later Jesus would be raised to life as our risen Lord and eternal King. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the Messiah, the One prophesied to take away the sins of the world, redeeming each one who believes in Him and saving us from our sins. His kingdom is now in the hearts of His people, and His eternal kingdom is coming with His return. Join us in this seven-week verse-by-verse study of Jesus' final entrance into Jerusalem and His road to Calvary. Volume 3 of Delighting in the King of Kings can be done in conjunction with volume 1 and 2, or it can be used as a stand-alone study.

This volume integrates multimodal theoretical frameworks with those from graphic communication and information design and applies this critical synthesis to the examination of the changes and relationships that occur when multimodal documents are distributed across various means and channels of consumption. Drawing on examples from popular newspapers and store catalogs, the book’s specific focus is on documents as sets, here defined as the collective of all the assorted forms of a document published across multiple mediums and modes. This approach affords a multi-layered analysis of multimodal documents more broadly, in addition to engaging in questions about the very definition of a document and the terminology we use in relation to documents, including genres, mediums, and modes. As both a critical examination of the theoretical frameworks employed in literature on documents and a way forward for new approaches to analyzing multimodal texts, this volume is key reading for students and scholars in multimodality, graphic communication, design, media studies, and information science.

An ancient pattern of worship is re-emerging on the earth. In Acts 15, the apostle James quotes the book of Amos, declaring that the "tabernacle of David" will be restored, and the people of the earth will respond to God's gracious invitation into fellowship with Him. David's tabernacle is being restored in our day by the enthronement of God upon the praises of His people through worship The Lord is birthing a global day-and-night worship and prayer movement that will lead to a historic harvest of souls entering His Kingdom. Worship creates encounter with the living God and His presence, bringing heaven to earth: wholeness and transformation to individuals, to cities, and to nations. You will discover your original purpose and eternal destiny as you step into David's Tabernacle.

This book is an examination of natural law doctrine, rooted in the classical writings of our respective three traditions: Jewish, Christian, and Islamic. Each of the authors provides an extensive essay reflecting on natural law doctrine in his tradition. Each of the authors also provides a thoughtful response to the essays of the other two authors. Readers will gain a sense for how natural law (or cognate terms) resonated with classical thinkers such as Maimonides, Origen, Augustine, al-Ghazali and numerous others. Readers will also be instructed in how the authors think that these sources can be mined for constructive reflection on natural law today. A key theme in each essay is how the particularity of the respective religious tradition is squared with the evident universality of natural law claims. The authors also explore how natural law doctrine functions in particular traditions for reflection upon the religious other.

David Sinclair on Harvardin yliopiston genetiikan professori, maailman johtava pitkäikäisyyden tutkija, keksijä ja startup-ammattilainen, jonka TIME-lehti on nimennyt yhdeksi maailman sadasta vaikutusvaltaisimmasta ihmisestä. Sinclar on saanut lukuisia tunnustuksia ja palkintoja työstään solujen toiminnan ja niiden vanhenemisen mekanismien tutkijana.Matthew LaPlante opettaa journalistiikkaa Utahin yliopistossa ja on kirjoittanut kirjan Superlative.
