The chronicles of this book take place in recent times and are set out in six parts, each complete in itself yet integral to the whole story. Priscilla (Terri) Taylor is the latest of a long line of descendants plagued by the curse of Corbett, a distraught gypsy girl, generations before. Her grieving father is fired from his work but still manages to form his own business with the help of a friend and the forethought of his late wife. His success prompts the unscrupulous board of his old company to attempt to close him down. He finds unexpected help however, from the CEO of the group, sacks the perpetrators and installs him as Managing Director, later providing him with yet another incredible business opportunity. With his newly found wealth, he sends his daughter to a prestigious college for girls hoping that will transform her into the elegant young lady his wife would have wished for.Here, however, Terri feels an outsider and is involved in many predicaments culminating in a confrontation with a local gang which leads to her suspension, yet surprisingly, is partly responsible for her attaining the College's highest honour. Meanwhile, her father has a tempestuous affair with Delphine, his boss's salacious daughter only to find true love with Sandy, an attractive, precocious girl half his age. Before he can ask her to marry him, she is deceptively lured away by a jealous Delphine leaving him heartbroken once again.
