How can prospective outsourcing clients prepare their internal organizational workflows to meet the challenges associated with an outsourcing venture with little penalty in time, cost, and effort? Along this guiding question, the author empirically investigates the ways in which several factors of the client company's internal organizational context affect the outcomes of their outsourcing efforts. The investigated factors represent the client's IT capability, the explicit knowledge in form of business process documentation available within the company, and the level of alignment between the client's IT and business domains. Based on qualitative and quantitative empirical data, S. F. Martin demonstrates that each of these client-specific factors has a significant inter-organizational impact, affecting the quality of the relationship between client and provider, the vendor’s performance, and outsourcing success.

El conocimiento del paciente sobre la Anestesiolog a como especialidad y su rol que desempe a son conceptos que no est n claros. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la percepci n y el conocimiento actual de los pacientes sin antecedentes anest sicos - quir rgicos previos acerca de la anestesia y del anestesi logo en el preoperatorio y en el post operatorio de su primera cirug a. Se realiz un estudio descriptivo, anal tico, transversal, de dos grupos, en tres instituciones de la ciudad de Quito, entre abril y agosto de 2014. Se aplicaron encuestas en pacientes ASA I - II programados para cirug a electiva, distribuidos en 2 grupos: 100 pacientes que no recibieron anestesia previamente ni hayan asistido a una consulta pre anest sica, a ellos se les aplic un cuestionario de hasta 24 horas previo al procedimiento y 102 pacientes en posoperatorio dentro de las primeras 24 horas de su primera intervenci n anest sico - quir rgica.
