Der Autor geht der Frage nach, ob Hans Henny Jahnn in seinem Komponistenroman "Fluss ohne Ufer" musikalische Erzahltechniken verwendete. Ausgehend von Jahnns Rede "Die Aufgabe des Dichters in dieser Zeit" erfolgt eine Skizzierung der Grundlinien der AEsthetik, der Baukunst und Musik, die der Autor dann per Analogie auf die Dichtung ubertragt. Zum Verstandnis der Harmonik und des musikalischen Erzahlens zieht er u.a. Kepler und Leibniz heran. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit deutet "Fluss ohne Ufer" mit Hilfe musikalischer Kompositionstechniken wie Fuge, Polyphonie und Kontrapunkt als dissonante Utopie. Den Schlusspunkt bildet eine vergleichende Eroerterung der "Ideen" Herders und des "unklassischen" Humanismus Jahnns.

Sebastian Giustinian (1460–1543) served as the Venetian ambassador to the court of Henry VIII between 1515 and 1519, during which time he sent back frequent and detailed dispatches to the Signory of Venice. In 1515, when Giustinian arrived at the English court, Henry was only twenty-four and described as 'expert in arms, and of great valour, and most excellent in his personal endowments'. In this first of two volumes, Guistinian's letters paint a vivid portrait of a diplomat's life at court, covering treaty negotiations, meetings with Cardinal Wolsey, and the personal qualities of the monarch and his queen. Translator and editor Rawdon Lubbock Brown (1806–83) had an unrivalled knowledge of the Venetian archives: he was the first historian to appreciate the importance of the dispatches sent from London by the Venetian ambassadors. His edition of Giustinian's correspondence provided an entirely new insight into Henry's reign when it was first published in 1854.

Kognitiv adfærdsterapi (KAT) er en terapiform, der er kendetegnet ved mange diagnosespecifikke metoder, men som alle andre terapiformer har KAT også fra starten haft en solid stamme af transdiagnostiske metoder, fx sokratisk dialog og adfærdseksperiment. Det er disse metoder, som forfatterne har ønsket at fremhæve og udvikle med denne udgivelse. Bogens forfattere går desuden i dybden med metoder, som er mindre velbeskrevne i faglitteraturen, og som kan anvendes ved mange psykiske lidelser og problemstillinger, fx kontinuummetoden. Titlen Kognitiv adfærdsterapi på tværs dækker også over, at flere af metoderne nedbryder skellet mellem anden og tredje bølge inden for kognitiv terapi. Endelig er KAT kendt for at være en rationel, problemløsende terapiform, men den rummer også mange kreative, emotionsfokuserede metoder, som præsenteres i bogen, fx visualisering og metaforarbejde.
