This is a guide for teachers on how to support children to write and perform poems that matter to them - it shares creative ways to harness the classroom potential of the 'Kids' Poems and Stories with Michael Rosen' YouTube channel. It is a practical and supportive handbook, put together by a practising teacher, and it suggests some ways that fellow teachers can create enriching writing communities with and for their students.Jonny Walker is a primary school teacher based in Newham, East London. He runs poetry and creative writing projects which connect pupils and teachers across local groups of collaborative schools - these include residential poetry retreats, KS2/3 children's writing networks, and initiatives to promote the teaching of mythology and classics in the primary school. Michael Rosen is a poet, broadcaster, novelist and non-fiction author. He has run poetry workshops for children for over 40 years, and was Children's Laureate from 2007-2009. He is Professor of Children's Literature, at Goldsmiths, University of London where he teaches critical approaches to children's books and supervises students' projects on encouraging reading and writing.

I Walked the Line is a chronicle of first love, long-kept secrets, betrayal, forgiveness, and the truth--told at last by Johnny Cash's first wife, the mother of his four daughters. It is a book that had the full support of Johnny Cash, who insisted it was time for their story to be told, despite any painful revelations that might come to light as a result. Many myths and contradictions regarding the life of Johnny and his family have been perpetuated for decades in film and literature. Vivian exposes previously untold stories involving Johnny's drug addiction, his fraught family life, and their divorce in 1968, as well as the truth behind the writing of two of Johnny's most famous songs, "I Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire." Supplemented by a never-before-published archive of love letters and family photos, I Walked the Line offers a deeper look at one of the most significant artists in music history. Here, fans and readers can experience the extraordinary account of love and heartbreak between Johnny and Vivian, and come to understand Vivian's dignified silence over the years. Through this elegant, revealing, and powerful memoir, Vivian Cash's voice is finally heard.
John P. Dodd, the light man at the legendary Caff Cino in Greenwich Village in the early sixties, assisted at the birth of Off-Off-Broadway and collaborated with key figures in New York's downtown world of theatre and dance. This book, illustrated with rare period photographs, recounts Dodd's colorful life and career from the unique perspective of playwright and director Michael Smith, drama critic of The Village Voice and his intimate companion in that transformative decade. Smith's personal narrative, thoughtful recollections by friends and colleagues, and Dodd's own words attest to his originality and unusual force of character. A year-by-year record of his wide-ranging work as a lighting designer confirms the importance of his theatrical art.
