Our ability to understand others is one of the most central parts of human life, but explaining how this ability develops remains a controversial issue, exercising psychologists and philosophers alike. Within this literature the Paradox of False Belief Understanding remains one of the main open challenges. Based on an up to date overview of the empirical and theoretical literature, this book highlights the significance of this paradox for our understanding of the development of social cognition and provides a new explanation of it in the form of the Situational Mental File Account. Central features of the account are, firstly, identitfying three distinct stages in the development of belief understanding and, secondly, elaborating the role of both cognitive and situational factors as well as their interaction in the development of belief understanding. This account is also applied to the related phenomenon of pretend play, demonstrating the potential for a wider application of the account. This account generates both new empirical predications and a framework for further theoretical work, thereby providing a fruitful ground for further interdisciplinary research in this area.

F r die pr zise Beantwortung der Fragestellung erfolgt zun chst die Beschreibung des empirischen Gegenstandes, in dem das theoretische Verst ndnis von Interaktionsarbeit, betrieblicher Gesundheitsf rderung, Gef hrdungsbeurteilungen sowie widerspr chlicher Arbeitsanforderungen gekl rt wird. Dar ber hinaus wird eine geschlechtssensible Betrachtung des Forschungsstandes vorgenommen. Aus den theoretischen Vorannahmen wird schlie lich die konkrete Untersuchungsfrage und damit verbundene Unterfragen hergeleitet. Im Rahmen einer exemplarischen Betriebsfallstudie sollen mithilfe qualitativer Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung die Besonderheiten von Interaktionsarbeit im Einzelhandel herausgearbeitet werden. F r die empirische Erfassung wurden deshalb im Rahmen der Studie problemzentrierte Leitfadengespr che gef hrt, welche anschlie end anhand der strukturierenden qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet wurden. Das methodische Vorgehen sowie damit verbundene G tekriterien und ethische Fragen werden in einem eigenen Kapitel n her erkl rt und auf die vorliegende Forschung bezogen. Die darauf aufbauende Analyse der Transkripte bildet den Kern der Arbeit: wie sieht Interaktionsarbeit im untersuchten Unternehmen empirisch aus? Kleist ver ffentlichte die Erz hlung erstmalig im Ph bus, einer Literaturzeitschrift, die Heinrich von Kleist gemeinsam mit Adam M ller 1808 herausgab. In der ersten Sammlung von Kleists Erz hlungen wurde die Erz hlung 1810 zum zweiten Mal gedruckt, jedoch hat Kleist den urspr nglichen Text noch einmal ver ndert, ehe er in den Erz hlungen erschien. Der Autor f gte an einigen bedeutenden Stellen der Erz hlung religi se Attribute ein, im Ph bus hei t es "Die Hebamme versetzte, da dies, soviel ihr bekannt sei, noch keinem Weibe auf Erden zugesto en w re.," w hrend es in den Erz hlungen lautet "Die Hebamme versetzte, dass dies, au er der heiligen Jungfrau, noch keinem Weibe auf Erden zugesto en w re.." Ein weiterer Unterschied findet sich in den Gedanken der Marquise, in der ersten Fassung ist ihr der Gedanke unertr glich, "da dem jungen Wesen (...) ein Schandfleck in der b rgerlichen Gesellschaft ankleben sollte"1. W hrend dieser Gedanke in der zweiten Fassung durch einen Einschub ber den Ursprung des Kindes, "der eben weil er geheimnisvoller war, auch g ttlicher zu sein schien, als der anderer Menschen"2, erg nzt wird. Solche Ver nderungen weisen auf m gliche neue Motive von Kleist hin, neben der mysteri sen Schwangerschaft der Marquise, die au erdem beraus emanzipiert ist, da sie ber eine Zeitungsanzeige den Vater ihres Kindes sucht, gewinnt das Gottesbegehren der Protagonistin an Bedeutung. Foreword Among researchers in the business and management disciplines, there is some kind of a common understanding that research should provide models, concepts and solutions for practical problems. In other words: research is practice-oriented and, personally, I subscribe to this maxim. Still, sometimes, it is important to pause for a moment and reflect upon one’s own activities. The present thesis is one of those comparatively few pieces of research that do so by dealing with the scientific side of research and by asking a number of questions that target at the identification of the nature of a very recent subfield within business and management, namely Supply Chain Management. In particular, the author seeks to understand the processes that characterize the evolution of Supply Chain Management research throughout the past sixteen years and reflects upon avenues for future research - feeling that SCM research seems to have come to a crossroads. The systematic reprocessing of Supply Chain Management literature and the methodologically sound approach are impressive and enable Julia Wolf to contribute a valuable component to scientific practice and debate in this area. Her work also illustrates that, in terms of philosophical underpinnings, research in Supply Chain Management is still at the very beginning and I hope that this thesis gives rise to more work of similar kind.
