Plumbago zeylanica Linn und Rhizome von Acorus calamus Linn wurden ausgew hlt, um das Potenzial zur Verbesserung des Ged chtnisses zu bewerten.Die Wurzeln von Plumbago zeylanica L. (Plumbaginaceae) sind in "Rasayana" enthalten - einem ayurvedischen alten System der Medizin zur Verj ngung. Es enth lt auch Plumbagin als aktiven Bestandteil, der ein Alkaloid ist, das als Nervenst rkungsmittel wirken kann. Das UV-spektroskopische Verfahren wurde zur Absch tzung des Gesamtgehalts an Phenol, Flavonoid, Tanninen und Alkaloid f r beide Pflanzen verwendet. Der Gesamtgehalt an Flavonoiden lag bei Acorus calamus Linn bei maximal 88% und bei Plumbago zeylanica Linn bei 50%. Unter Verwendung der Standardkurve von Quercetin (y = 0,005 0,05 R = 0,997), des Flavonoidgehalts von Acorus calamus Linn und in Plumbago zeylanica Linn. Wurde ein 88 bzw. 50 mg Quercetin quivalent / g Trockenprobe gefunden.
